That's just one guy's opinion. If all the major labels felt like that then why is FAB signed, Federation, A'z, The Pack, etc.? Who ever you talked to I doubt that he's as big as the CEO of any of these labels.. And a lot of the songs have the same concepts but sound the same? Naw, he trippin. If he got a million demos that all say go dumb in the title I think he's getting non-Bay Area hyphy music. Prolly some seattle niggas makin hyphy shit. And why is hyphy the main topic of convo on here?
fab is signed because he is nice as hell on the mic and has a business minded crew around him that grinds full time. no part time dudes. no dudes who hustle and then do music or sell cars and then do music or cut hair and then do music. they do music and fab has star quality. federation had rick rock who already had a situation, he could have got anyone signed. the pack, had a connection to too short, A'z had a catchy song. the other 99% of them doing hyphy don't got a chance in hell outside the bay and fresno.

Most of what you were reporting was real talk. But artist won't listen until the change and the chance has passed them by. There is only a two year olds size hand full of Bay artist that are willing to make their own idenity.

That's a different genre of music. You don't hear that shit when your at a bar or a club (unless at a tittie bar).

it does all sound the same. what i loved about the bay is everyone had something diffrent to bring to the table and they werent on some 12 year type shit i see these little kids wearing hyphy get dumb rest in piece mac dre shirts.
and every song for the most part is the same. iono theres a song here in there i like but i cant listen to it more then three times before it gets old. but i can constantly play my old bay cd's to. senseless rambling i dont see how new bay doesnt appeal.

Why does the Truth hurt so much? Dude just laced the board with what the people "with the money" are saying about bay music, and most of ya'll basically saying fuck what what dude said, when he just gave ya'll a blueprint to success...That hyphy sh*t in it's curent form is wack rather you want to believe it or not...

WHY DOES EVERYONE CARE SO MUCH ABOUT BEING MAINSTREAM? THAT'S WHAT THE BAY IS NOT. WE ABOUT THAT INDY PAPER. ALWAYS HAVE BEEN, UNTIL HAMMER CHANGED THE LANDSCAPE. TRUTH IS, INDY OR MAJOR, IF THE STREETS IS FEELING YOU, YOU CAN SELL. THAT'S WHAT HAS ALWAYS MADE THE BAY UNIQUE. THAT WHY CATS LIKE CELLSKI, SAN QUINN, ANDRE NICKATINA, ETC. WHO GET NO AIRPLAY, CAN STILL OUTSELL CATS THAT ON THE RADIO ALL THE TIME. FIND YOUR NICHE, CHOOSE YOUR TEAM, AND GET YO HUSTLE ON. OUT THE TRUNK, ON THE NET OR OTHERWISE. BAY UP!

Put it this way....I've heard the same shit too through my talks with a few A&Rs...they said straight up that E40 was gunna get his anyway...40s been at it for a while and has been well known through out the country for many years......he can do that...he can sale records...evybody else is still looked at as a huge gamble out here....period...no matter how many spins cats get on KMEL...they are still trying to figure out how they gunna get these artists to the rest of the nation and be well recieved....all the labels ain't stupid and will not spend money on something they aren't for sure will get them their doe....Fab's release is critical...the Federations next album is critical..the A'z release will be as well as The Pack.....you gotta understand that the labels that have signed these artists have just stepped in first and quick to hop on the shit thinking that they will see the money first....hopefully these artists will do great...but really we gotta stay fresh and new....remember these are business moves...not HELP. nobody gives a fuck about the bay or any other region that they will just sign for any reason other than money...period. also music gets passed around fast through the industry..and all it takes is one well known DJ, producer or whoever to say...nah man...this ain't the dude to sign...and it's a rap....the name goes out quicker than the speed of light and will usualy never will come back up ..and it's on to the next artist.

The Bay's problem is that it is not critical of itself. We can't support everything just cause its Bay. Some of this shit is weak. Alot of it does sound the same.

Those who think its not important for the Bay to reach the mainstream don't understand this shit. This rap shit is E-40's, San Quinn and Keak's job. Why would they want to limit the amount of money they can make.

Those who think making music for women is wack are wack themselves. I feel like if your creative enough you can make shit that women love and is still credible. Pac did it, Biggie did it.
