at the top of the year i was contacted by a RAL intern who 'tried' to hook me up w/ several jobs as far as graphic design with the company...promising good pay and future projects for the likes of scarface and devin the dude...

RAL had planned on releasing part 2 of RNDS...they had a few designs they had from other designers that didnt really fit RAL or a tx theme...

they wanted something basic, just a big swanger w/ the RAL logo incorporated...

so i did a proof and they liked it...the intern tried to force me to give them a larger version so that lil j could sign off on the design and cut the check for the deposit...i refused...because i know what happens w/ larger files...i had already done more work w/out pay that i would do on a normal basis...but this was an 'opportunity'...

i ended up doing another proof and sent the invoice...bout a month went by and i never heard anything nor did i get paid...to top it all off the intern wanted 30% of my money for my work...hell managers who actually do something dont get that damn much...

well today i went to the ral website and saw that they had started promoting RNDS2 with of all things...my design...

look familiar?

once i wasnt paid i sold the basic design to another client...

case in point...dont do business 'opportunities' w/ interns...

The word "opportunity" is almost always a scam. Thats a word used to try to trick an artist into working for free by having the artist think that they'll get alot of clients in the future.

theres no money designing for artists and labels.

most are looking to barter and or are just broke. learn websites and do updates, design, etc. for a legit company. the music industry is one big "opportunity".
