agreed. The Catholic faith is based on the bible, yet they do things as a congregation that are expressly forbidden in the bible. I used to be a Catholic until I started going to church with my ex girlfriend, and started reading the bible for myself. I realized then that being a Catholic was likely going to lead me nowhere but hell in the end

And nor do you have to pray for me.

I never said people who believe in god are less intelligent; christians are less intelligent for the simple fact they reject common sense and confirmed science, not to mention they are prejudice as well. Other religious groups have accepted science, why haven’t you?

It’s all good man. You do your thing, I’ll do mine.

if thats what you want to call yourself...

you ever been to a christian church?

if you're ever out in the bay area, you should check out jubilee christian center in san jose... and after the service, come back on here and tell us what you think about the message the preacher spoke on... i'm sure alot of theists on here would be curious about what an atheists' reaction to the message would be

I asked you what "kind of people" I am.

you ever been to a christian church?
Yes I have comrade

Unlikely I'll be there any time soon, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't check it out if I was. Listen, I never said some churches don't do well for the community or lack good messages because I know there are several. If this church is about doing good NOW and changing this country NOW and not waiting for the afterlife for a better life, then I'm all for it. If they treat ALL humans as equals then I’m all for it. If they preach keeping their religion to themselves, I’m all for it. You got a link or can you break down their message?

Our mission is to make disciples...
for local and global evangelism.
Our four-fold method of accomplishing this mission is
-by winning
-by consolidating
-by discipling
-by sending

Winning – reaching out through preaching, witnessing, television and printed materials, Life Groups and other efforts.
Consolidating– embracing new believers through weekly services, Life Groups Encounters, the School of Leaders, seminars, conferences and other means.
Discipling – training one-on-one, through cell groups and the
G-12 Ladder of Success
Sending – releasing as the Lord anoints those ready for lay ministry or full-time service for the Lord though the G-12 vision; and providing covering through prayer, counseling, licensing and/or ordination.

GO! Win, Consolidate, Disciple and Send Money! :dead: :dead: :dead:

Nah man, I'm cool with brain-washing.

I grew up in the Christian Church, studied heavily, fell off, got back into it, and finally rejected it wholesale. I could probably speak more on Christian theology than most "christians" on the Sicc.

By the way...Jesus died for my sins. He was beaten and flogged. How horrible.

I fell asleep four times during the movie.

I looked around and saw tears in the eyes of moviegoers around me. They were amazed at the "vicious brutality" of his death. They felt personal pride and heartwarming at the fact that this one man was put through so much...to save the 200 billion people who have lived in the time of the earth, before and after.

Never was there a mention of the 4 year old child who is raped and fucked to death with broken legs and a bleeding vagina. Never was there a mention of the millions killed in Cambodia by the Pol Pot for absolutely nothing. Never was there a mention of the soldiers in Iraq dying because of the military and strategic incompetence of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld.

Jesus, on the other hand, believed he was dying as a martyr. All the people who follow him believed he died for something. There are millions of fucking people in this world who die for nothing. Cry for them. Cry for James Byrd who was dragged to death behind a pickup truck for being black. Cry for the millions in third world countries dying from diseases that can be prevented with a dollars worth of medication.

Cry for the people in Sudan whom Bush will refuse to do anything for until we ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO...people whose wells have been poisoned with salt and corpses...who live in a humanitarian nightmare.

Or you can watch the DVD of a guy whipped over and over again, who died for "you and me". You can watch some mindless blood porn about some guy nailed through the hands. Cry for Jesus, and let the millions die worldwide. Cry for Jesus, and support the war in Iraq that kills and injures thousands of 18 year old Americans, leaving a country behind with no democracy and no future. Cry for Jesus, and purchase the passion of the Christ. What a noble, and worthy cause.

@white devil.... We can all critisize God for what happens on this earth, and turn around and say that He is a heartless God if he allows people in sudan to have miserable lives, aswell as cambodia, somalia, and even people in this country. Even for the children who are molested in this country, we can "blame" God. I hear that arguement, but at the same time, you should also be well aware since you were a Christian, being finally strapped doesn't mean you can't be wealthy in faith. If a man in Sudan accepts God, he is better off than bill gates if he doesn't believe. A 4 year old child who is molested in this country is hard evidence that satan is still very much real. We all have free will. The person who is molesting that 4 year old child does so on free will, and unfortunately that child has to be a victim because some sick bastard has fallen into the temptation placed by satan.

I couldn't leave this post without saying this...
For all the people who don't believe in God, whether they never have or they used to believe, I know the Lord is real. Anyone who has ever been saved, knows God is real. I had made the sinners prayer when I was in boot camp, begging God for forgiveness and for guidance from then on, before I knew what the sinners prayer even was. God showed me how real he was about 6 months later at a church in Santa Rosa. People around the world tell God on a daily basis that they will believe in Him, if He shows them a sign of concrete evidence right when they ask him to. I KNOW, that God will not show you how real he is until you put faith in Him. If you're asking how do I know that he exists....It's because when I was saved, I physically felt the exact moment when God cleansed my soul. My body instantly felt like it was 200 degrees. My tears were falling on my praying hands, and they felt like water hot enough to be boiling, and then...the best feeling I've ever known was a resident in my body. I knew there was an immediate change that had taken place, and it was because satan was no longer the bearer of my soul. I knew he was real before I felt him physically take my life over, but after that, there was no way I could ever doubt Him again. For all of the Christians who leave his side, they likely have either never felt that feeling, which tells me they never really put their faith in he, or they have allowed satan to win the battle of their soul, because they chose to believe in the worldly things that make this earth miserable, and they believe those things are Gods fault. A Sudanese (forgive me if that is incorrect) person can inherit the kingdom of God, and the wealthiest person on this earth could end up eternally in hell. This life, even if it lasted 100 years, is infinitely SHORTER THAN ETERNITY. Remember that!

christians and caths get bagged on, yet its the fucking muslims who are killing people

that's more the work of satan than people of the muslim faith, however if a person says they are a believer of God yet also believes that they will receive many virgins at their feet for them to have sex with....needs to wake up and educate themselves in what God's word really says if you ask me. Same thing with catholics. Not enough Catholics read the bible, if they did, they wouldn't catholic. Too many catholics have blind faith in the lesson plan assigned for the most of the year unless it's a special circumstance for their church. Christian pastors leave it up to God to tell them what scripture to focus on and when to preach it......I'm going to stop because I could go on forever with this

I just dont see how people can have such faith in a man, entity, or spirit that comes from a 2000 year old story. I never met god, nor felt his presence, and until I do, I will continue to believe what Ive always believed - there is probably nothing when your life is over.

Humans, with our egos and emotions, just can't accept that there is probably nothing when you die. We can't handle the fact that life goes on without us.
