Trick was you had to be the Banker if you wanted to start off with the most money. BUT you didnt know how to fix on shit and survive, cause you had bread. I forgot the other parts you could be (its been a minute) I used to hate when you would go hunting, kill a gang of food, but could only rtake a little bit with you. I wanted ALL MINES!!! LOL

I think the last time I played Oregon Trail I was in computer class (back when computer were one piece, and everything on the screen you typed was in green. Matter of fact I was in that same class when we watched the Challenger blow up on TV

Damn, that's some crazy shit. I forgot all about the Challenger blowing up. But that memory is somehow tied in with Oregon Trail for me too. Those fucked up green monitors. The principle announcing that shit on the intercom.

Our school had a computer area in the library, so we only got our Oregon Trail on once a week or so.

Farmer was the lowest one. You started off with the least amount of money, your animals always died and your people kept getting sick.

Or you could choose the medium difficulty and go as a carpenter. He was the best at fixing broken axles and shit.

And if anyone can beat the game as a farmer without losing a single person then you belong in the club. The "Almost As Cool as the Fonz" Club!

At my school it was called "Computer Lab". Anytime any shuttle went up, we ALL had to watch it. The Challenger was special because there was a big hype that a teacher was actually going into space on that one. So we sat there forced to watch it, when we really wanted to play some Oregon Trail. We all seen that shit take off, and not less then 2 minutes later it blew up. First we were like "was that supposed to happen?" Then the announcers were like "Tradgedy has struck, the Challenger has blown up" Teachers was cryin and shit, but for us being so young, we wasnt trippin, it was more like, Dam, ummmm....can we play Oregon Trail now?
