fact is, we made a big upgrade at the most important position on a football team. that fact doesn't change no matter how you wanna spin it. our offense is going to another level now. hate all you want, that ain't changing.
but what if he isnt an upgrade? the guy has been out of football, 31 years old, diminishing skill set the past couple years... but he might be rejuvinated with a fresh start, who knows??? all im sayin is lets withhold our judgement until we see him play a few games, all this bickering back and forth is pointless right now...

What if is right... People acting like they can see the future.
What if he goes out there and blows his knee up?
It's football. Palmer > Campbell stats wise. The Raiders have been known to use picks for players because a pick is just that, a pick. It's nothing more. Could get a gem, could get JaMarcus or Ryan Leaf. At least Carson has played in this league at a high level already.
Cool thing about draft picks is you get more every year. Always. So bet the future away because you can always use future picks to gain picks.
They need to put Palmer in this Sunday.
I didn't get tickets to the game to watch Kyle Boller throw interceptions.

You can say "what if..." About any draft pick, ant Fa signing, any trade, any new coach hired, anything.....

Every move made by every team is some sort of a calculated risk.... Fucking get over it. There was just a little more risk involved in this one

Now shut up already

Damn Palmer is already starting? WTF? We'll see what happens....

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...inator-hints-carson-palmer-will-start-sunday/

Carson Palmer appears set to start for the Raiders just five days after arriving in Oakland.

Offensive coordinator Al Saunders strongly suggested that Palmer will be the man for the Raiders on Sunday against the Chiefs when he was asked today on Fescoe in the Morning on 610 Sports Radio what Palmer needs to do to be the Raiders’ starter.

Saunders answered, “As long as he’s breathing.”

Saying that Palmer will start “as long as he’s breathing” doesn’t speak well for Kyle Boller, who came in to replace Jason Campbell after Campbell was hurt on Sunday. But Saunders said he was extremely impressed by what Palmer was able to do on Tuesday, just after the trade became official.

“He walked out on the field yesterday and everybody kind of looked at everybody and said, ‘You know what? This is a real quarterback,’” Saunders said. “That was the comment made by a couple people as they watched him throw. It just depends on how quickly he feels comfortable in what we’re doing and that shouldn’t take too long.”

For the Raiders, the question isn’t whether Palmer knows the whole offense. It’s whether he knows enough of the offense that he can be better than Boller. And it sounds like a few days’ work is all Palmer will need to be better than Boller.

This is too soon IMO, I think Boller should have started and the minute he was struggling then we could have possibly put in Palmer. I thought after the bye is what made sense to have him start.

wonder what pryor thinks about this, seeing as how palmer is signed for 4 years...
WR time for him, TP was a al davis guy! obviously he wasn't hue Jackson's guy because im almost sure Al would've started TP this Sunday after what happened to Campbell. With Carson now at the lead pryor has to sit back and watch the show for a few years and i dont think he will be coo with that. This guy makes very little money, im sure he had plans to eventually show case his talent and earn a big contract.

i dont think Pryor is anywhere close to be a starting QB in the NFL right now. im glad he gets the chance to grow and hopefully he works hard so when his time does come if it ever does than he will be ready to lead this team.

Shaughnessy to IR, Raiders sign OL Hurd

The Raiders have placed defensive end Matt Shaughnessy on injured reserve, the team announced via Twitter Wednesday.

To replace him, the Raiders signed offensive lineman Zach Hurd to their practice squad.

Shaughnessy injured his shoulder in the Raiders' 34-24 win over the Jets.
