What ''truth'' am I failing to see?

Michael Huff wasn't worth the number 7 pick in a draft where we needed TONS of help elsewhere. With that high of a pick, for a FS, he's held to a higher standard than what he's produced. What you failed to see was my point that the Raiders have a history of picking a.) worthless bums, b.) overhyped players, c.) all the above.

Also...the Raiders beat your team.

Seriously. Sucks to be you.

nope...doesn't suck to be me at all homie. lol

you Raider fans are blinded by that fluke of a win you got against us, your hatred for the Chiefs clouds your fuckin' judgment clearly. if it weren't for Huff you guys would have just had that 1 long ass field goal Jano always seems to kick against us here for some reason. thats it. he might not have been worth that #7 pick but you can't deny his talent he has whenever he does decide to put it to work. have you ever thought that he just doesn't like playing for Oakland? You do know that the Raiders are the one franchise that players clearly do not want to play for right? Me being a Big 12 fan, i've seen him firsthand make plays all the time in college against high quality opponents so i know hes not as bad as you seem to believe.

Sucks to be you, unable to seperate your narrow-minded views of Raiders fans. "WE" are not all alike. If you could read and/or comprehend a sentence, you'd have seen that I'm far from believing that this core of overpaid bums we have on our team this year could compete for anything more than the 3rd spot in the AFC West (by default). 1 win against a team who's barely shittier than us doesn't mean anything to me.

And Big 12 offenses aren't even close to any number of NFL offenses. I also saw Vince Young defeat arguably one of the best teams in our lifetime in college; how's he doing now?

i appreciate you acknowledging the fact that the Raiders aren't sofar ahead of my Chiefs like the "other" raider fans believe. i still think we have the better team even though we lost to you guys. lol and im sure you believe the Raiders are the better team....theres nothing wrong with that. thats what being a fan is all about, only when they start having tunnel vision with just their team in sight is when they get dilusional about the other teams in the league is what ticks me off.

I never said the big 12 offenses were even comparable to their NFL counterparts either. texas wasn't no slouch that year either you know, they were just a well put together team just like usc was. one team has to be the winner and that just happened to be texas that game. we all know v. young was overhyped coming out of college, that still doesn't mean the dude doesn't have the skill. i mean he did do pretty well his first year in the league didn't he?

all n' all though....

its still FUCK THA RAIDERS ALL DAY!

same reason I told you all JR shouldnt be starting right away. It takes qb's a good 2 - 3 years to learn systems and speed of nfl.
But when was the last time the Raiders had one system in place for more than 3 years?

I agree with one of the previous posts that said the reason alot of draft picks aren't working out for the Raiders is because a lack of developement or stunted developement because of so many changes. Asomugha was considered a bust until 2006, 3 years after he was drafted. It took Gallery 3 years to solidify himself as a guard and Huff is just now starting to make a bigger impact. With that said I still dont think Russell will ever be a real NFL QB. Never wanted him but I supported him since he was Raider...after seeing his play/attitude this season I dont think I will ever support him again.

completely different situation...

I can see waiting to throw Russell in because he was our number 1 overall draft pick with a big ass contract, and the future of our franchise...

Gradkowski is a backup we picked up in the offseason who was originally competing for a 3rd string spot on the team

are you saying we're supposed to sit him on the bench for 2-3 years and then start him? I'm not saying this guy is gonna be our savior and a franchise QB... I'm just saying he might be able to throw for least 50% completion percentage!

so again... WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOSE?

Michael Huff with the 7th pick overall, when we desperately needed a QB (among 2353253 other needs)?

Great...thanks for that.

Also...that means that Michael Huff single-handedly beat your shitty team.

Sucks to be you.
whether or not Huff was the best pick at that time... I don't think he can be called a bust

sure... we would have been better off picking a QB or any other position

but Huff finally proved he can play, so I wouldn't call him a bust

I don't think Huff is a bust, but I think he was a poor choice at the time. He's a decent player on a horrible team. He doesn't even stand out on the RAIDERS, of all teams...

...and he was picked 7th overall.

Oakland has been called an NFL laughingstock by both the media and Raider haters. Now the criticism is coming from players around the league.

New York Giants middle linebacker Antonio Pierce, speaking during a Sirius NFL Radio interview conducted Tuesday by myself and retired NFL head coach Marty Schottenheimer, had some harsh words for the Oakland franchise after his team's 44-7 home rout last Sunday. Pierce said the Raiders game felt more like a "scrimmage" than regular-season contest. And while the topic wasn't discussed openly, Pierce said a confident Giants roster was well aware that ailing quarterback Eli Manning (heel) could get a break the quicker New York took a commanding lead. Manning was already on the bench with the Giants ahead at halftime, 31-7.

I asked Pierce whether the Raiders (1-4) were really as bad as they seem. His response:

"I do not like knocking teams. But right now, they're struggling. We're playing that game the other day and, honestly, it felt like a scrimmage, like a practice. It felt like we were going against our offense (in a controlled setting) as far as the tempo.

"There was no vibe of trying or effort from the Raiders at all from a defensive standpoint against their offense. We're getting three-and-outs. You don't hear nobody (saying), 'Hey, let's go!' trying to pick the guys up, rallying them, getting guys fired up. There was nothing. It was quiet. A guy gets sacked or somebody gets beat, they just get up. It's not like there's yelling or no kind of (emotion) about the way they were playing.

"It was shocking to be out there in that game and get that kind of feeling."

Such harsh words aren't fun for Pierce to use. Pierce, who was credited with four tackles in Sunday's game, admitted during the show that the Raiders were his favorite team while growing up in the Los Angeles area.

"It's sad because I grew up a Raiders fan," said Pierce, who was 16 years old when the Raiders moved back from Los Angeles to Oakland in 1995. "That organization right now, they need some guidance. They need somebody to pick them up."

Pierce's comments are the latest critique of a franchise seemingly destined for an NFL-record seventh consecutive season with at least 11 losses. Since a Week 2 victory over Kansas City (0-5), Oakland has fallen apart with three consecutive lopsided losses. One major reason is shoddy play from quarterback JaMarcus Russell. He ranks 35th in NFL quarterback rating with four interceptions, just one touchdown pass (in the season-opener, no less) and 42.1 completion percentage.

The news isn't any better off the field. First-year Raiders head coach Tom Cable is under police investigation for an alleged assault on Oakland assistant coach Randy Hanson in August. If he's eventually found guilty, Cable could become the first head coach under suspension since NFL commissioner Roger Goodell took office in 2006.

Oakland hosts Philadelphia (3-1) on Sunday. The Giants (5-0) travel to New Orleans for a big-time NFC matchup with New Orleans (4-0).

^^^^^^This is sad to hear from another player in the nfl......The giants new the quicker they score hella points the quicker their teammate can go rest........WOW......We are the worst team in the league...that just made it official.....It seems like no one on the team gives a shit.....at least on offense.....I know the defense talks it up for sure though

crazy story, What does Al Davis think of what you people and the sports writers are saying? nothing what does he care as long as the stands are full every sunday and he gets his T.V. MONEY. Nothing will change untill the people stop showing up the other teams use this as practice and still get paid for their time.
