damn ass france team and an old italian out before the round of 16? previous WC finalist....crazy shit, this WC seems to be wide open at the moment, hopefully brasil doesnt steam roll threw the final games

I wouldn't say Italy played like shit the first 2 games they just couldn't score. they controlled possession the first 2 games, today was a little more even possession wise.

The reason this Italian team sucks is simple - it lacks good players. Four years ago they had Totti, a healthy Pirlo and Del Piero coming from the bench. Now there is absolutely no creativity in the squad aside from Pirlo. And Toni isn't the most skilled striker the game has ever seen, but Yaquinta as a starter... are you kidding me?

My guess is that Brazil/Chile and Spain/Portugal will complete the final 16. Switzerland should win against Honduras, but they have to win high in order to surpass Chile, which will probably lose against Spain. Brazil will either beat Portugal or they play draw.

Plus they had a healthy Cannavaro. Dude was responsible for the goals in the first two games.

Lippi calls people up based on what he thinks of them as a person and not a player and that fucked them up. Hopefully Prandelli calls up players based on their current form not who he likes/dislikes. Then they will be more competitive.

I was hoping New Zealand would score a late winner and fuck everyone's day up hahaha. Hats off to NZ, they played like men when a lot of teams haven't been.

Also hats off to that kid Honda for Japan. He played good with CSKA during the CL and he's silently killing this WC. His free kick was awesome today.

They are headed straight to a quarterfinal with Brazil and this is a movie we have watched before...

It's true that the winner of this quarterfinal will play one of Uruguay, Korea, United States or Ghana, which should not be a problem for either Brazil or Netherlands, but you have to go past Brazil first, and this Brazil team is as hard to beat as any Brazil team ever played at a WC, even though it lacks the flair of previous selections

I watched the games with like 20 Kiwis. They had two big screens with both games. Most Kiwis didn't really pay attention to any game, they were more busy with drinking lol

I was celebrating Italy goin home. That was awesome.

italy getting knocked out is awesome! they suck and didnt deserve to go any further

japan has been raising my eyebrow and im excited to see how they do from here

france, italy, and spain getting knocked out of the groups in which they were favored will make for a beautiful start to the world cup

while netherlands does have an easy next game, i think brazil will stop them in the quarters. a shame cause holland is a solid and deserving team

and mexico will shock the world when they beat argentina!!!! we've been wanting this rematch for 4 years, when we played an amazing game but came up short via a crazy over-time volley from maxi rodrigiuez. this sunday will be different

world cup is awesome. my girl is probably sick of soccer right now. i know my mom is baffled at how its is the only thing my dad and i talk about right now
