Yeah Im half Algerian but I gotta say USA deserve the win and the qualification. Algeria played way too defensive during the tournament. They got a good defense (especially Bougherra and Halliche) but the attack wasnt as good as during the qualifications, Ziani was really weak. I dont know why Boudebouz didnt play today, he did a good game against England. LOL @ the referee giving Yahia a red card as he came to say Halliche and Yahia to calm down. Well he deserved a second yellow when he elbowed Dempsey but that was weird.
BTW USA finish 1st of the group, and it seems like whe gonna have an England-Germany during the round of 16, interesting.

I thought Algeria were going to score in the end. That's what usually happens in such games. Too many misses of the absolutely unforgivable kind.

The US got through but my verdict remains the same - not enough quality in that team to seriously challenges the big nations

If Germany wins today as expected then the U.S. has a reasonable chance to get to the final 4 since they will have to beat Ghanna, then S. Korea/Uruguay (none of the top tier teams). Could happen.

Just got back from downtown. City is going nuts right now, people honking and German flags everywhere. I gotta say I'm very relieved, but far from happy. We had to win this game, no matter what, but a convincing performance is something else. Özil is a fuckin BEAST, though! Dude is gonna be one of the best. He got the deadly pass on lock, but still needs to improve his scoring, except for that beautiful goal today.

well we needed germany to smash ghana but 1-0 and 2-1 was not enough
Props to the Aussies for fighting back ! Too bad we couldn't help you guys tonight. Your squad definitely showed some heart. And props to Mexico and the USA for getting through, too!

Now we got the first really BIG game coming up.

ENGLAND vs GERMANY on SUNDAY

I can't wait. It's gonna heat up real quick in the media in the next days.

I'll update this chart once the last group games have been played.

Philipp Lahm and Manuel Neuer had a great game, too. Ghana would have scored without these two. I hope this team can still pull something out of the sleeve and advance. I wonder how Capello will play against us. We might finally get so see some real tension in this WC. I really hope for a penalty shoot out, but id gladly take a 1:0 over England any day.

Good shit US for scoring in extra time. Good Luck against Ghana. Now, Mexico played horrible yesterday. Idk why, maybe it was because Uruguay was bunkering the whole game. I think we were struggling because we lost Juarez and Vela. Thats a lot of speed lost right there, but we did have Guardado to compensate, but we also had Blanco in there which to me negates Guardado. Im hoping Vela comes back in time for the next game and that Chicharito starts. Mexico vs Argentina again...I think we have a chance, but we have to play a perfect game against the Argies. GO MEXICO!!!
