i think they should both start over Jozy. they look way hungrier in the friendlies then jozy ever does. i like buddle and he is on fire in MLS too.

what team looks the best in friendlies to you guys?

brazil is looking nice. netherlands too. robbens injury didnt look that bad but you never know especially with him. he shoudln't have even been on when it was 6-1 in the 86th minute.... his coach probably kicked himself after the game.

I heard Pac Bell park in SF is broadcasting the USA v. England game on the big screen for free. I can't make it unfortunately but ill be watching somewhere else.
you kidding me. not start jozy?!?! jozy puts the ball in the back of the net. period. and beasts on people. haha I.E. spain game

looked like he was goin for a rebound in basketball. haha

Jozy gotta start, and he's played against some of these guys while in the EPL this year

Breaking news — Nani out of World Cup
Jun 8, 2010 13:21 BST

SOCCER-WORLD/Breaking news — Portugal’s Nani will miss the World Cup because of his shoulder injury, the Portuguese Football Federation just announced.

UPDATE: So, the course curse of the World Cup strikes again, and this time it’s Portugal’s Nani forced to miss the tournament in South Africa.

“After tests we conclude he is unfit to participate in the World Cup,” Portugal’s FA said in a statement that will make painful reading for the country’s fans.

Nani suffered the injury in training on Friday in Lisbon before flying out with the team to South Africa. He enjoys a long list of absentees (see here for a previous blog from Mark Meadows)

As my colleague Shrikesh Laxmidas describes it, he fell while attempting an acrobatic shot and hurt his shoulder in the process.

Nani was quiet in the first half of the season for Manchester United but finished very strongly and this injury puts a lot more pressure on Cristiano Ronaldo to lead the time in South Africa, where they face Ivory Coast, Brazil and North Korea in Group G.

^^ I agree with the fuck Portugal comment, but all these fucking injuries are bad for the sport. I want the best players of their country to compete in the greatest sport event in the world, not the second or third best. Imagine your team going all the way to the finale and even winning the cup and haters gonna be all over them and talk shit like "ohh with Ballack, Nani, Drogba, Robben, or who ever else recently got injured "We" would have kicked your ass, your title doesn't mean shit cause this or that player wasn't on the opposing team.

Seriously, i just wanna see good Football and with all those stars being injured it's not gonna be the WC it could have been. I'd say the same thing if Germany were to face Brazil in the finale and shortly before the match Kaka, Robinho, Maicon, Josue etc. got injured. I'd be pissed and not happy that we might have an advantage due to injuries.

sorry but the team wins games, not individuals.

Teams >>>>>>>>>>> Individuals

unless your name is Diego Maradona

I completely agree with this, but good individuals make the difference between top teams on the same level. They're the ones who make the impossible goals, dribble their opponents dizzy with tricks that make you go like WHOA, did he really just do that?
They are the ones who make the opposing team shit their pants and by that bring advantage, as well. Although i agree they can't win a game on their own, they definitely can decide a game with their individual class.

The team comes first, no doubt, but the top players make the sport much more enjoyable to watch, imo.

yup you make a good point there, sometimes individual play makes the difference, like Zidane or Ronaldo for example(real ronaldo not fake faggot metrosexual c.ronaldo the diving dicksucker).

People want to see moments of individual brilliance and I do too, but for me I appreciate the mental & tactical side of the game the most.

But yes, watching Zidane single handedly rape a defence is uplifting

btw I think Essien is the biggest blow to the cup for me, he is a brilliant midfielder will never forget watching this goal

Robben if he doesn't play will be on the same level, the way he cuts defenders in half with his skill on the ball and cuts inside, as well as his great finishing, these two guys will be missed the most. The world needs to see them play.

you guys think South Africa is gonna upset mexico this friday?

and what about Uruguay vs. France?
Mexico need to have a bigger share of possession because the crowd will be behind SA for the first game and as a first game anything can happen and is unpredictable. They are a possession team so they can outplay SA, but I think it will be a high scoring game two to three goals each, I'd say SA will just win.

Forlan is in good form and France are in shambles so I expect Uraguay to beat them, however I wouldn't be suprised if France win this comfortably.

I was disgusted and ashamed after that match even though it was a friendly, we made so many stupid fucking errors, but the pitch was shit too started comming up in the 2nd half.

@Australian side of things, we did look ok in attack aside from that useless cunt josh kenedy being useless and not being able to control the ball, he was our target man yet could not use any strength to hold up the ball, mainly because he is a tall weak cunt. So I'm hoping Harry starts for us and doesn't come on as a sub because I don't want the world to see this goofball fucking up and then thinking we are all fuckups...

Vidosic looked good as well as Garcia in the midfield, the rest did ok and some like Grella had an off day.

When we were behind Pim switched to a 4-4-2 and we had more creativity, but again, going nowhere with josh kenedy.. Defensive side of things was ok aside from the errors that lead to 2 goals and countless chances for you guys.

Just a training run, plus the boys had heard news that one of our keepers son was sick with lukemia (he flew home to see him yesterday) so that might be a reason as to our mental game dropping off..

@USA side of things, I was impressed with how Donovan and Dempsey kept going after we shut the down for the first half, in particular with Dempsey, he is a tough little bastard and took a beating of fouls late in the 2nd half from us. You guys made alot of chances but Findley missed a sitter and I wasn't too impressed with him, Buddle was very good tried his heart out. Hanhemann made some bad decisions in golas but I like him as a shot stopper, doesn't matter though cause Howard will always be your number 1.

I think you guys defended well and have alot of speed on the counter that can trouble defences. I pray to HAD you guys can play even better v England, that would be epic.

I think USA will have a good go at this cup judging from what I have seen.

@fedex - jozy looked good during confed cup but i think he's gone downhill since then. his first game @ hull he came on and looked hgood but i think he faded since. his size is the only thing which will make him start in SA over gomez... gomez has a better eye for goal.

i think first match will be 1-1. i dont think it'll be a goal fest like dude said i think both teams will be really careful you dont wanna get whooped up on center stage on the first match day. SA will score from a set piece header and mex will find a way to work one in too.
