who cares if the World Cup never sees the full potential of an America team, it has a professional league and that is garbage so really no excuses. The reason i hate US soccer so much cuz its a fucken joke
then get out there in the inner city and start teaching the kids how to properly play the game then. until the big 3 sports stop being so tempting for the kids, soccer will never reach its full potential in the states.

russia can come out and make a professional baseball league that doesn't mean they are true "professionals" now does it?

college sports is mainly just football and basketball, the NCAA could give 2 shits about the other sports....they're all about the scratch.

i do see more n' more kids playing soccer though, its just that the majority of those same kids 9/10 times stick with one of the big 3 sports. it sucks, but thats just the way it is i guess.

and cuauhtemoc blanco would mollywop landon donovan in a bar room brawl. game over.
lol

This has been said on numerous occasions here and anywhere else where sports is talked about on a constant basis.....Football, basketball and even baseball is what young Americans really want to get into at a young age, not soccer. Now imagine if our best athletes went the soccer route instead of the other big 3 sports as kids and ran with it....We'd be throttling the other countries like it wasn't shit.

Go ahead and hate me for saying that you Team USA haters (especially the ones that are actual Americans themselves) I could care less....you know it and so does the rest of the world, our real athletes are playing football, basketball and baseball. Don't get me wrong though, soccer is picking up steam in the states but it will never be as big as the 3 major sports of this country....EVER.

So the World Cup will truly never see the full potential an American team could bring to the world stage when it comes to this game. We would have to get extremely lucky to win the whole enchilada and I just don't see that happening anywhere in the near future.
In terms of physicality, def could be the best in the world. But it is more than that, you need technique and other skill sets as well as the mental side of it like being able to read the game for example.

It's a long road for all developing nations, but the good thing is football (soccer) is not going anywhere so there is plenty of time.

I think in the U.S they try to give soccer scholarships to the wimpy kids who couldn't make it in the other big sports. They don't seek out talent they just give it to privileged kids with parents how have pull in society. The poor kids get fucked out of having a chance. The soccer system is about who know rather than skill.

My friends cousin has a kid who is a great player he 15 and he made a soccer tryout out of hundreds of players in Mexico, they from the U.S but they rather have there kid try out for a Mexican club the chivas and he out there now getting developed faster.

I really don't see how you can argue either cases for or against USA and Mex. They both were supposed to advance from their group and did. USA won their group and Mexico got second. Advantage US. Mexico was supposed to lose to Argentina and USA should have beat Ghana, Advantage Mexico.

All in all I think it was a good showing from both teams. If the USA didn't have such shitty nerves in the first 20 minutes of their matches they could have beat Ghana. If Mexico didn't get fucked by that first goal and Osorio didn't gift Argentina the second goal, they could have at leastd gone to extra time with Argentina.

I think in 2014 though it willbe completely different. Mexico has better young talent then USA. Hernandez is the next big thing outta Mexico, I just hope he doesn't get treated like Vela did in the EPL.
