I'll go with Taylor by UD. Wright doesn't press the action enough... and we all know Taylor can/will be aggressive. Taylor by UD.

I'm going with Winky, but I wouldn't count Jermain out because he is usually the busier fighter, with Winky being more of a counter puncher and defensive specialist.

Jermain has shown that he runs into problems when being backed up, but he does have Emmanuel Stewart in his corner so I doubt it will be the same Jermain we've seen in his last 2 fights...

Winky by decision

But I wouldn't mind seeing either guy win this one...

Winky will be making Taylor eat jab after jab after jab....all night baby! mark my words. Any supposedly repaired holes in Taylor's game will be torn right back open when he gets frustrated after a few rounds.

Winky by a goddamn landslide.
what he said. Winky Wright by unanimous decision.

Taylor by UD, because Winky is scared (joking, sort of).

Winky has never fought anyone even close to Taylor's caliber.
His impressive wins are 2 over Mosley (has been going down hill for the last 2-3 years), Trinidad (perfect style match-up, plus he came out of retirement), and his last fight with Soloman (who?).

Winky will try to hide behind his "defense" and will figure out that defense doesn't score points. Its not like Winky is a slick mover, he just keeps his hands up all night. Why not though? If you can't power punch, keep your hands up as much as possible.

Taylor by mental edge...

Wright beat Mosley after Mosley dropped two straight decision losses to Forrest. Actually, he had a NC with Marquez (headbutt/cut) and then got a gift decision against DLH, then dropped 2 more to Wright.

2 straight losses, a NC, a gift, and then 2 more losses...is considered downhill in my book.

Regardless, I do respect Winky. He is PFP one of the best boxers right now. The guy is respectable, not too cocky, doesnt talk too much, and has a solid game plan. I just think that Taylor will be too much for him. He moved up to Middle two fights ago (Trinidad and Soliman), and now he is going straight to Taylor. That is pretty tough.

If he wins it's not like I'm eating crow. Im not saying Taylor is going to blow him out of the ring and Ronald has no chance at all. I am just giving the slight edge to Taylor in this one.

Outcome Rounds Money Line
RONALD "WINKY" WRIGHT PICK EVEN
JERMAIN TAYLOR PICK -130

Actually, a draw isn't looking too bad neither (14 to 1). 21 to 1 is the average spread on a draw.

I agree.... Sugar was/is on the decline. Winky did beat him though....but Taylor is a busy fighter and with Emmanual in his corner that will help him even more. I'll still take Taylor by UD.

(should have made this a poll)
I was looking for the poll option but I didn't see it.
As a mod, can you fix this?

Anyways, I'm gonna go with Winky Wright by unanimous decision.
If Jermain Taylor had such a hard time with Hopkin's jab,
wait till he's at the end of Winky's stiff jab.
Taylor had a hard time landing punches on Hopkins, wait till he's up against Winky's impenetrable wall like defense.
Winky WILL win the battle of the jabs which will help him dictate the fight. (Winky's trainer is predicting an easy win, and I agree with him)

In order for Taylor to win, he's gonna have to go balls out and just throw everything at Wright regardless if he connects or not;
in hope that he gets the decision based on activity alone.
Unfortunately for Taylor, in order to throw punches he's going to have to grow balls. And a lack of confidence has always been his worse enemy.
But he's got one thing going for him that might help his low self esteem, Hopkin's win this past weekend.
He could use that as a confidence builder coupled with the confidence you automatically get when you're the new champ.
Indeed, according to Taylor's camp;
Jermain's training with new found confidence.
Jermain claims that they're going to come out firing combinations and fight at a fast pace.
We'll just have to wait and see because Trinidad's camp said the same thing....

Winky doesn't do anything but cover up and throw jabs. That's not going to win him the fight. Taylor is going to be busier and he will win the fight by UD. And to my knowledge... Taylor is the champ. So Winky is going to have to take the title from Taylor and his style of boxing won't allow him to. Taylor by UD.
