The idea I see that keeps coming up as a justification for making quick money is just that, making quick money. But the point that I"m trying to make is that, a couple rappers make it out of the hood, that's a good thing. They even give back, that's a great thing. But beyond rappers and sports players is what i'm talking about. Educators, business men, the list can go on and on. I'm talking about strong black male figures. Not the image of blacks in jail in throngs, as portrayed by the media. Which, sadly, is simply a reflection of real life.
I'm just advocating substance behind blacks making it in this society today. Not just enough money to delve deeper into materialism. It's no good for a small part of the black race to make it, (music, sports or what not) and the majority to be left behind, to continue living in the game, destined to poverty for generations to come.
Is they Hyphy movement making blacks look dumb? I don't think so, but then again, i'm a 27 year old male that grew up in the bay area, so I might be biased. I'm just glad these kids nowadays are promoting having a good time rather than shooting/killing/selling crack/etc etc, although that is still going on. HYphy movement aint making blacks look dumb. It's rap covers like turfpolitishunz "the pimps of hazzard" or whatever it's called, that's the kind of thing making black people look like they're continuing to take steps backward.
