its still leaning towards Leaf though.

reason: russell always had his detractors when he came out.. all the "he cant read defense / hes too big / hes too slow / not that bright" shit plagued him and al davis was like fuck it.
ryan leaf on the other hand was supposed to be BETTER than peyton manning in almost everyones eyes. and he lit shit up in college it was no question he was the man. he was a physical specimen. he had all the tools, even in the league. he was just a total headcase which makes it so much worse..

then he got busted. WHILE HE WAS A COACH... trying to PLANT ON A PLAYER OF HIS TO AVOID THE CHARGE.. breaking & entering, different types of pills and i dont know just bizarre shit.

Even still.. Russell's stats last year were worse than the last year Leaf played in a significant amount of games. They both started 9 games (Russell last year, Leaf in 2000) and Leaf's numbers sucked dick, just not as bad as Russell's did.

Heres the thing for Jamarcus now... he is all set up for the big comeback... I watched him play in college and he was almost great every game and I know he went down the wrong path to fuck up his career... But now knowing all the shitty plays this dude was a part of and all the what seemed to be just "bad breaks" are really cuz this dude was fucking not reading (or cant read) the recommended dosage on the bottle of cough syrup... This dude is fixable... I tell you all now, watch for the come back... Its the only way we as Raider fans can feel worse, is this dude getting a chance somewhere and lighting it up... All you Raider haters out there will probally agree, it would be just our Raider luck...

Regardless, I hope he does get his head out of his ass. It has been buried so deep now for three plus years, the shit may be hard to shake. He is all of 24. He is holding himself back, not the Raiders any longer. I wish him the best.
