December 20. Yesterday Miss USA Tara Conner narrowly escaped losing her title. The media speculated that it was Tara's excessive drinking and illicit drug use that put her crown in jeopardy. But MediaTakeOut.com has learned that may only be half the story.

A source has come forward to tell MediaTakeOut.com that Connor nearly lost her crown not just because she was partying - but because of who she was partying with. The source claims that in recent weeks, Miss USA was getting uncomfortably close with hip hop stars, including The Game, Cam'ron, and Jim Jones. The source tells, "[Tara] loved hanging around with rappers ... she used to tell me that they were exciting."

And according to the source, when word of Tara's new pals got to the ultra-conservative Miss Universe committee, her fate was sealed. The tipster explained, "Tara went from hanging out [with rappers] at parties to hanging out with them after the parties ... and that was it for her." The source continued, "they might be able to accept [Tara] drinking or sniffing coke, but there was no way [the Miss Universe Committee] was going to let Cam'ron get his hands on Miss USA."

The Miss Universe Committee refused to respond to MediaTakeOut.com's numerous requests for comment.

well, being as that metallica is a bunch of 40+ year olds that live in Marin county and put out country albums... lets just say they may come off as a little more wholesome than the likes of The Game and Cam'ron who, individually, have probably been arrested more than all the members of metallica combined. and pulling the race card and then going on to say "cracker ass" probably doesnt help boost your credibility. just a thought...
