Yes.....I don't think you know what you're talking about.
I want you to explain to this board how it would NOT be worth it for, say, 100 COPIES of this new FTS album to be printed up.
I CLAIM that the price would be around $3.25 or so per unit (Retail-Ready, Basic inserts, Shrinkwrapped), and that--being as though these would be LIMITED EDITIONS, only meant for HARDCORE FANS--they could easily bring in $8-10/unit plus shipping.
That would not bring in thousands of dollars, but it WOULD bring in a profit, it WOULD satisfy a market (Hardcore SLR fans), and it WOULD be something that could be considered a Collector's Item............ALL OF THIS could be done, rather than simply putting the album up for download and being done with it.
This does NOT even take into consideration, the fact that one COULD simply order 1000 or so BULK Replicated CDs, and have them shipped for around $500....then slap them into CHEAP slim cases from any Office Depot....add some HOME-MADE inserts......for a total unit cost of around ONE DOLLAR OR LESS......and then sell THOSE for a few bucks each plus shipping.
--------------------
YOU CLAIM that it (the first option, you have not seen the second) is not worth it......but you refuse to provide your own figures.
You simply want to insult me and talk shit about me, even though I am the one with EXPERIENCE doing this kind of thing, and you are just the guy who has seen OTHER PEOPLE do it.

Good point.
This would almost be worth pressing 50 or 100 CD-R copies, just so the most hardcore SLR fans can have something to brag about. I'd probably shell out some clams for a couple.

No it wouldnt....the cost of CD-R's plus shipping aint worth it...

It is very much worth it. You can get 100 basic CD-Rs, shrink-wrapped (what really matters), with basic inserts, for around $300 or so........then sell out in a Month or less at $5-10 each, selling half of them on this board alone.

And you didnt even mention shipping....comn dude...just STOP with the know-it-all shit....
Dirty Shoez said:
And how much exactly, pray tell, do you think it costs to ship 100 units in Slim Cases......if it costs around $120 to ship one THOUSAND units in REGULAR cases? I'll let you give this board your best guess.
Don't make this thread about Dirty Shoez. This thread is about a hot new album that is about to hit, and it is about the fact that there seems to be interest in BUYING it.

Dude, I know a lot more than you, and that should be the end of it. If you'd like, I will absolutely wear you out and make you look completely amateur with your lack of knowledge about Replication/Duplication, but I am trying to avoid that. You seem to forget who has pressed CDs multiple times (me) and who has not (you).
Keep it on topic.
