I wouldn't mind the Hyphy shit if it was the slightest in originality. All that shit sounds the same and the cats spittin on them hyphy tracks never really have any creative lyrics in their spits, all they do it spit a bunch of cliche bay slang and talk abut their scraper, their white t shirts, shakin their dreds and wearin stunna shades etc etc. shits played out to us older cats.

Thats why I only really bump the Mob Figaz and OG bay cats that havn't fallin into that hyphy fad.

Shits cool every now and then, I just think the Bay has a whole lot more to offer musically and lyrically than that stuff.

Funk is one of those styles that is looked at as a losing formula (mainstream wise). Bay artists are finally understanding that they MUST keep up with the mainstream if they want to get on so funk is out of the window. I miss it too. It's just how it is right now.
I can't think of one hyphy track that has gotten nationwide airplay yet can name a gang of old school bay area mobbed out funky tracks that have.

"now thats why i left the boards... why cant we just be happy for our music and aour people to get on right now, we got a chance now, and you want us to go back to starving while most cats aint even buying records. Its a sad day when last time i was on here cats was complaining about no radio play and now we run the airwaves.... aint shyt changed on this board. "

Thats real talk! Life is about seasons and cycles......The bay will never be perfect, we just just doin our thang. From the last few years, we have gone far. We need improvement, and less this and that, but it comes through evolvement and time. But on the most part, THE BAY IS DOIN' THANGZ......

^Until there are bay cats on the Roc, the Thangs they are doin just ain't that big if you ask me. I still like the shit but you ain't doin big thangs till you got bay cats consistantly putting out platinum albums out, the world needs to be up on our shit not just the bay and the handful of people who are wise to what we do out here across the country.

trust me i love the hyphy movement and the new clubbish, wild style the bay has encorporated. but is it just me or does it seem to appeal to a way younger generation? music in general appeals to the younger generation anyways. thats where the chips is at. i support it 100% but just like some people feel... i wouldnt mind hearin a single thats a little more laid back, or something that isn't hyphy like, but hey... thats what workin right now

We gonna be talkin bout the good old days to our kids and finnally understand where our folks where commin from back in the day when they was talkin down on our music, cause you know its gonna be some garbage then.
