I think the Bay has adapted with the times....Everyone else did it a few years back so its about time lol....I think people are putting more time and effort into their production, lyrics, song matter etc....

But yeah the "Mobb" sound of Mosley/Bostic etc will ALWAYS be my favorite time

I agree that the bay has adapted over time ... i also think more rappers are putting more quality time into doing there beats and not coming out wit a CD every 3 months...

I agree too, but you can adapt your music over time and keep the original flavor, and I think from a global point of view that's not the way the bay took for the past years... there are still some producers that make their music evoluting with the new technology but they keep the original bay flavor in their music (I think about K-Lou, Johnny Z, G Man Stan, Steve D, Laidblack prods, DJ Mark 7...), but most of the music comin out from the bay now is just poor musically, simply beats, not much quality music is comin out nowadays, I just think the bay is loosing his original musical identity, or if not loosing, just changing for a new 1.
It's just my opinion, no disrespect to anybody... peace

I like the fact that the new dudes in the bay have the balls to make a name for them selves. Like that New Bay shit, love it or hate it, it took BALLS to start some shit like that and back it up with good music. And at the same time I like the fact that rappers like Quinn and Keak put out IMO some of their most UNIVERSALY solid music to date. Plus I like the party hyphee stuff that the federation have been doing, I mean they ain't the best writers, but they get the fuckin party crackin! I am glad the bay has new blood because it creates a choice...I like 40, but I was tierd of him being the only Bay artist on the radio...now you got a gang of Bay artist doin they thang and alot of them are new artist. The Bay can't live in this 1994 bubble forever, because in actuality the Bays unwillingness to change and a string of bad comps, recycled songs and shaddy business deals is a big part of the reason the Bay needs to make a comeback as apose to always being a force in the industry.

it's just that it's years later and things change. The sound will always stand out weather it was bay 1993,1995,1997,2000 or 2004. I think we've been in a slump for the past few years but this year the bay has managed to come out of it...with the help of highly anticipated artists like quinn. keak, messy etc. and of course the new artists like frontline, federation etc. as long as we keep letting brand new artists with a new twist and styles in.
that's the key. period. not holdin back on artists just because the normal young cat don't think they sound "bay enough".

damn G-Ro it's an honor that u put me in the same category with my Uncle Johnny an the rest of those producers....Thanks!
No dickriding here but I got to give props where it's due, you sound fat IMO... from your Funxsouljaz starts to your last Taydatay/Apt3/40ounces moves, you stay true to your musical roots and views... even if you go with your time and the new technology, you don't get into some wack ass poor beats...
like I said before, no disrespect to anybody trynna hustle making music (it's just a matter of musical taste) but go to B-Dub (CIN) site and just listen to the beat he gots on the front page (steve d produced the beat), the beat sounds 2000's (I mean he used modern technology to make it) but it's some straight classical bay sound...peace
