Indy may be affordable according to them but good luck finding a decent job to make the mortgage payments haha, and Carmel and it's surrounding suburbs have the highest home prices in Central Indiana

i've been living on my own since i was 18, i kouldnt afford to move anywhere, but the money i saved up, was able to travel.

But once i got enough money, moved to Burlingame. shit is expensive...

But nothing like San Francisco.. there's just alot to do and see. BUT I'M pretty sure all places have lots to offer.

The thing about this list (NYC for example) is that if you have a job within that city, you're going to be getting a higher paycheck compared to people in the rest of the country.. so it pretty much evens out. I guess unless you're delivering pizza..

And there are always different sections of a city that cost less to shop/live.

LOL @ Detroit being on the list of most affordable cities.. Like anyone wants to live in Detroit.

Places I've lived before that made the list:
San Francisco
Grand Rapids
Dayton
Santa Cruz
Watsonville
Napa (for like a couple weeks)
and I'm staying in San Louis Obisbo for the weekend.
Ain't that crazy? And I'm only 23.
i live just outside of dayton. you get what you pay for. ohio is a shithole thats why you see 4 "cities" on that list. per capita springfield is probably worse than detroit and new orleans combined. dayton isnt much better. no jobs high crime rate, buncha racist rednecks you get the whole package round here.

I found it funny that Brick City was on the list of least affordable cities as well.....Detroit has some nice areas.....talking about the outlying suburbs....Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills are some pretty NICE places to live

It kind of evens out really, in those affordable cities your not making nearly as much as you are in the big cities.

So, to me...I'd rather live somewhere that has a high cost of living with everything in close proximity, then some small town where the best thing about the city is the Wal-Mart.
