McGwire alone hit 9 HR than were 500ft or more (range was 500-545), Adam Dunn hit a 538ft HR in 2004, and there are tons of examples that aren't "barely 500ft"...

A 500 foot shot is very doable with a perfect swing. I hit a ball last weekend with mostly my upper body, and it went well over the 365ft. center field fence line. It skimmed the bottom set of lights on the pole, so it was well over 400 foot.

This is what bothers me. They make hoops player go tp college for 1 year in order to play in the NBA. Yet Tennis palyers and Golfers can play as teens and it's no big deal.
