That 570 ft. dinger is a lie. The longest HR in history in the MLB barely went 500 ft. Yes, its an aluminum bat, but cmon now.
i call bullshit on you my friend, that 570 footer was, according to SI, measured and documented. And how is it not possible? A person with faster bat speed then mcgwire? With an aluminum bat? And this was in Las Vegas, with the vegas weather? I would say it is entirely possible.

McGwire hit a ball 560 feet with an aluminum bat for an exhibition he was doing with ESPN during the All-Star weekend back before he retired. He also cracked the bat. LOL

Moral of the story is the media are truth benders, and McGwire is a fucking beast.

More than likely. It's not like it matters now. He only hit 15 more home runs with androstenone in his system than when he was clean.

There's also an often refuted rumor that Mickey Mantle hit a ball 638 feet.

A 500 foot shot is very doable with a perfect swing. I hit a ball last weekend with mostly my upper body, and it went well over the 365ft. center field fence line. It skimmed the bottom set of lights on the pole, so it was well over 400 foot.
