Las Vegas Tower

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, the proposed Las Vegas Tower is a world-class "supertall", twice the height of the Stratosphere (not including the "Big Shot" ride on top). At 1,888-feet, it will be the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and a solid centerpiece for the new North Strip.
Austin-based developer Christopher Milam proposes this $4.8 billion, 5,000-unit, 142-story, condo-hotel resort and casino, for the land south of the Sahara resort (the former Wet 'n Wild aquatic park). The project was conceived by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Steelman Design Group.
There are challenges in getting a project of this scope off the ground. The Federal Aviation Administration would need to relax it's height restrictions and the project would need approval from the Board of County Commissioners.
The developers are bullish on this project and have carefully considered all the possible pitfalls before announcing this bold plan.
If built, the Las Vegas Tower would be nestled between the Sahara and the upcoming Fontainebleau Resort, dwarfing everything around it.
Note: Although no official renderings of Fontainebleau have been released, this (right) may be a close representation of the plan and our first look.
