all imma say is my new album IS dropping in 2010. Im gearing towards a summer release just so i can have a little more time to put the finishing touches on the project (removing songs, replacing songs...MASTERING!!) i thank all of you for being patient, and talkin shit!!! it just goes to show people are actually interested in hearing some good quality music. would you rather me drop 10 bullshit projects in the course of a few years...or come with a project that you will be able to slap for years to come?? one love everybody...@IAM ill be up there today
Firstly, my regards to you and your crew on your friend's untimely death. The day he died on just happened to be my birthday, and although i had a HORRIBLE 26th that I spent in the hospital, bleeding everywhere.....I don't have much room to complain. May he Rest in Peace.
Secondly..... as far as: "would you rather me drop 10 bullshit projects in the course of a few years...or come with a project that you will be able to slap for years to come??"--at this point, you really don't want an answer to this question.
Your years-old material competes with most local artists' today material. Period. It may not be your "100" Material--which, remember, is going to drop into the 90s, 80s, 70s if you leave it sitting for years and years--but its quality
enough.
It seems as though you're busy shooting for this Perfect Album, where every listener loves every verse of every song, and its not going to happen. It never does. It never will. For every "If I Had To", "Sykotherapy" and "I Just Wanna", there's a "206 Wayz". I hate that fucking song, but the album is still a classic and I still recommend it as a starting point, along with Harsh Game.
You (probably honestly) believe you're saving your fans by not allowing them to chart your progress and growth as an artist....but you're really hurting them. One of the greatest things about following Local Artists is being able to watch them develop, and feel like you had a part in it. One of the WORST things about National Artists is that they come out of nowhere and the bandwagon comes through at 100mph, and we're all just along for the ride...with our individual support not meaning shit.
You stay productive; you stay out of jail; and your throwaway songs are high quality. Stop doing us a "favor", and just release something tangible. Charge $1 or $3 or whatever on PayPal. Charge $0. But it needs to get done. At this point, its not even really for the fans anymore. Its for your own good.
