Whats good my nig? Yeah Duna been around us since a kid, he's my real cousin, I watched him grow into a man and become independent. I know it may seem as if he just came out the blue and many think he's trying to imitate Mac Dre but thats the style he adapted from being around us and Dre, and I've had my say to him before about some of his decisions but he in no way is just now starting to have the style he's been having. I remember when I first got out the pen I put him on his first song on wax and he gassed it, that was 1997 on my Fresh Out The Gates album. I remember when he got out of jail for an attempted murder charge and he came to our show in Portland with Me Mac Dre and Andre Nickatina, me and Dre was impressed by his raps he had wrote then. He then ended up staying in Portland with Mac Dre for a few days and he ended up getting on some pimping time being mentored by Mac Dre, he was calling himself baby Mac Dre then, but after Dre's death when he started using the name on albums and songs, it would seem unfitting to use to the fans, and even I agreed that he shouldn't use that name and suggested he go by Mac Duna, which is the name he in turned use.
My cousin is outspoken and very flashy but he's sharp about his business and I think he reps Mac Dre genuinely as homage as with everyone from the Crest who came up under Mac Dre and knew him personally. He's a man idoled by many even after ten years since his passing, so you can imagine how someone who personally knew him in this industry and was molding themselves up under him when he was alive, how much harder they'll strive for him now. I hope this clears up alot of the stuff about Duna, he can be a hardhead and tempermental at times and will say the worst of things in his responses, but trust me he's a real cool dude... 1luv... Sorry for the book!
