^^^ We're going in circles. So if you die, and you don't remember this existience you way you don't remember before you were born, then what difference does it make? Either way, this life is gone. And without recollection of this life, there is no afterlife, just as there is no forelife.

After a person dies there is the time he spends in his grave depending on the person some will be tortured in the grave and some will not feel anything, this will go on until the day of judgement. On the day of judgment all of mankind will be put back together and awaken from the dead. To make a long story short people will be judged on their book of deeds, if the good outweigh the bad he/she will go to heaven, if the bad outweigh the good he/she will go to hell. Depending on if he had a grain of belief that there was only one god, and didnt committ partners with believing in one God eventually will be taken out of hell. Anyone who had that belief and didnt committ partnership will eventually be taken out of hell. On the da of judgment everyone will rise to be judged from Mohammad s.a.w to Jesus pbuh, from gingus khan to hitler, from Adam to the last person on earth.

Well, whether I remember or not holds no bearing to whether or not I existed in the past and will continue to exist in the future.

I accept the existence of the transcendental soul. There are two basic theories: that the self is different from the body and that the self is produced from the body. The materialists take the latter position primarily because it fits in with their materialistic views. If there is a transcendental soul involved then they have to completely overhaul and reconstruct their whole mental conception of reality. I choose not to make the assumption that the body produces the self, nor have I heard of or seen evidence of such. It is all speculation. Based on simple observation I can understand the difference between the consciousness and that of which one is conscious; the difference between the actor and the field of activities. I remember that once I had a child's body. Now I have an adult body. The body has changed yet I remain. Therefore I am different from the body. Simple observation. Anyone proposing a theory contrary to this simple truth has the burden of proof on them.

^^^ There is no soul. That's human folly speaking. Yes, you once had a child's body, and now you have an adult body, and yes you do remain... for now. But when you die, there is no body. Your body deteriorates, along with your "self" or "soul" ... as does everything else that dies. You want to talk about simple observations, I think thats as simple as it gets.
