LAS VEGAS -- A strip club manager paralyzed in a triple shooting in February is suing the National Football League, the Tennessee Titans and suspended football player Adam "Pacman" Jones, claiming they're responsible for his injuries, his lawyer said.

Tommy Urbanski, 44, seeks unspecified damages in the civil lawsuit, which his lawyer, Matthew Dushoff, said would be filed Friday in Clark County District Court. It also names the owners of Harlem Knights, a Houston strip club that rented the Minxx Gentleman's Club in Las Vegas for a party the weekend of the NBA All-Star Game.

"The fact that the NFL and the Titans did not punish Adam 'Pacman' Jones until after Tommy was paralyzed is a proximate cause of Tommy's injuries," Dushoff said before a news conference at a Henderson hotel with Urbanski and his wife, Kathleen Urbanski.

Jones' attorney, Robert Langford, denied the troubled cornerback had any responsibility for the man's injuries and called seeking damages from the player, the NFL and the Titans "a Hail Mary pass."

"There's no basis in fact for suing the NFL and the Titans," Langford said.

Jones, 24, faces two felony charges alleging he incited a melee and threatened to kill people inside the club minutes before the shooting outside. No one has been charged in the shooting.

"From my heart, I feel bad for this guy and his family," Langford told The Associated Press. "But Pacman Jones is not the shooter. No one has said that he is. There's not one bit of evidence to link him to Mr. Urbanski's injury."

Urbanski, a former professional wrestler, was shot four times and was left paralyzed from the waist down in the Feb. 19 shooting. He spent several months rehabilitating at a Denver hospital before moving in August to a hotel in Henderson because his house has not been outfitted to accommodate a wheelchair.

"Even 'three strikes and you're out' and this wouldn't have happened to me," Urbanski said at a news conference with his schoolteacher wife.

Jones was arrested six times after being drafted by the Titans with the sixth pick overall in April 2005. After his arrest in Las Vegas, he was suspended by the NFL for the 2007 season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, but he could be reinstated after Nov. 19.

"We've done our homework on this. If Jones had been disciplined earlier, more likely than not, he would not have been invited as NFL player Pacman Jones to the club," Dushoff said.

The NFL and the Titans said they would fight the lawsuit. Harlem Knights representatives in Houston did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

"We have great sympathy for Tommy and Kathy, but we strongly disagree with any claims against the NFL and the Titans and will respond appropriately to the court," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that this is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in a while, and hopefully the courts don't make a mockery out of the justice system and even let this guy think he has a claim.

Throw it out!

you would think when he filed that crap, they would look at him and laugh. Like what did the NFl and the Titans have to do with Pacman paralyzing you?

And a civil suit before a criminal trial? He hasn't been convicted of anything yet, so you're basing your 'evidence' on what? If he really wanted to get something off of Pacman, he should have waited, or taken it slower.

Dumb ol' cripple.

You're cold for calling dude "Dumb ol cripple"...

I think he should just sue Pacman and leave it at that. The Titans/NFL shouldn't be held responsible for this cats conduct off of the field.

I think he's going after Pacman because Pacman caused it. He issued a threat and then damn near made good on it...

I feel what your saying but if pacman was a normal person with a normal bank account, then he wouldnt have been named in this lawsuit. Why isnt the perosn who pulled the trigger named in the lawsuit? I think the guy is owed money for what happened to him but go after the person that did this to you, not the people with the most money.

If Pacman was a norman person with a normal bank account he wouldn't have been at the club "making it rain".

Look at OJ. He was held liable for the deaths of Nicole and Ron. He was found innocent in his criminal trial but was found guilty in civil court. I think this dude is going to win if he just sues Pacman. Pacman was the instigator of the whole thing and then he damn near made good on a threat after getting kicked out the club. Even though Pacman wasn't the shooter he's still going to be held liable. Pacman was the shot caller... remember the words "smoke this fool"?

Like in the pen... when fools get down or taken out... The person who called the shot gets in trouble.

If I tell you to shoot some one and you kill them, who is going to go to jail?
I could tell you to do a million things but YOU have to make the choice to do them. Unless Pacman told the guy he was going to kill him unless he killed the guy, Pacman should not be held responsible for this other guys action. Pacman's words can only go so far if the other guy didnt take any action.

Its like getting a DUI and blaming it on someone else because they got you drunk. You still have to drink the alcohol and the make the choice to drive.

OJ was the one that actually did the crime and Pacman is not running a criminal organization. Those are bad examples.

I see your point but that's why there a two different courts... Criminal/Civil. But Pacman did threaten to kill them after he (Pacman) got roughed up in a choke hold and then kicked out the club. Even though Pacman wasn't the trigger man he can still be held "liable" because of his threat. First he made the threat and then shots were fired in an attempt to make good on the threat. They got witnesses too. Pacman is going to lose this battle if dude just tries to sue Pacman.

I agree. Pacman should be held responsible for his threats and not for the shooting. But we know how the courts rule things.

I don't blame him though... I would want money from Pacman though not the NFL or the Titans. Dude is paralyzed now... just think of all the medical bills he's going to have to pay. On top of that he may need a special vehicle to travel... they may have to re-do his house to accomodate his disability. That's why it's a Civil lawsuit.
