i've been reading some other threads an im in awe at how stupid people sound.....now only in my opinion though...
but i fail to understand all this street respect shit....what is it.....im from a lower middle class or higher lower class hood, we never had to starve but shit was wild around their nevertheless...but it was always cats that seems to think that street respect was better then getting major legal dough....you see it all the time. you got guys claiming 50 cents is a bitch for all the security he rolls with and that he has all that money an no street respect, then you have those same guys saying that fat joe has street cred and he can walk down the street with his ts chain on....
you have guys that wear sean john and timbs an stand on the corner til they are 35, but they are cool, cause they are holding down the block and has been doing so since back in the day.....these are the guys our nieghborhood youth look up to..not benny brainbender that dresses in a suit an goes to work getting 80k a year from his masters degree......when will i ok to be smart and have the kids look at the person that strives to make a name for himself in the world other than the guy who strive to make a name for himself in his hood.....
i mean every person i grew up with that had the legendary street cred got killed by someone from outside the hood that didnt care about his credibility.
you also have kids that dont want to live up to there potential because they are afraid to lose their cred or they will be the outsider because they have a better chance to succeed, i just dont understand it and i still havent seen a person that will leave me star struck cause he shot 4 people last week an has bodies in ohio.
it fustrates the hell outta me to hear my young brethren talk about this strret cred like its cool to ignore you possiblilties to keep your so called freinds...some one please explain this to me
