B96 = #1 Minneapolis, Minnesota Hip Hop radio station. Peter Parker had a contest in March to name the "Best Rapper Alive" using a NCAA Final Four tournament style bracket. Listeners called/texted/e-mailed in their votes after hearing a song from each artist. Tech Beat out Eminem, Lil Wayne (Tech won with 73% of the fan votes, if i remember right), Jay-Z, The Game, and some others to meet Slug from Atmosphere in the finals (Atmosphere is from Minnesota, so was the favorite to win between him and Tech). Tech then went on to beat Atmosphere with 68% of the votes, or somewhere around there.
May seem like a small feat, but considering that over the past few years I have not seen very much Strange promo material around in record shops, plus the fact that almost everyone in this damn area is of the "OMG, Lil Wayne is the greatest rapper ever! *Starts doing the Soulja Boy Dance*" variety of Hip Hop fans, it makes it that much better.

Thats pretty much a load of crap. It is YOUR fault. You were marketing & promotions manager. You were the one that was emailing people telling them they were going to get promo, when in fact you knew they weren't because 'their are isn't a strong market'. Stop trying to pass blame off of yourself. It wasn't just you, it was the people working WITH you, UNDER you. i.e. Shawn K. He did exactly the same fucking thing. And nobody wants to take the blame. Its 'nobodys' fault. People get discouraged when they have to send in their info many many times to various people and get told that they will receive promo....and wait....and wait....and wait. As the marketing & promotions MANAGER, even if it wasn't you that promised promo, and it was someone working UNDER you, it was YOUR fault. Its your job as MANAGER to take RESPONSIBILITY for your employees actions. Thats how it works.
And no, you don't have to give it up to Noxious. Yes, I wouldn't be one to give him my number to receive a text from him, but I have his myspaces added to mine and I've never seen him bulletin anything strange related, unless it was the rough cut of his song with Kaliko. And honestly, without proof I'd have to say he bullshitted you. YOU may have gotten an email and a text, but it was probably a front to show that he sent out mass texts/emails.
And as far as making e-flyers and banners...I know of a guy that made banners and was promised to be paid for it, and never was. Another thing that was YOUR fault. Carry on and go promote Marz and his crew.

Man, it seems like any excuse to start shit is jumped on around here. If you read my original post, it said quite plainly that I wouldn't be able to get to everyone that responded, I am looking for people in specific markets, to accomplish some specific things. I have no idea what some of you were told in the past, not really my concern. I know I inherited a fairly good list of people who were down to help out from Hawke. I also know that I've busted my ass to fill in some gaps that were left. We're on schedule with tour promotion and I managed to get most Major markets served on Kutt promo. If you feel like someone isn't pulling their weight in a given market, well, then they'll probably demonstrate that through their actions and I will take my own action to correct it. In the meantime though, I'm not just gonna take some dude's post as the gospel on this shit, I need to feel it out and make sure I'm happy (or not) with individuals' performance.
Also, if you tried to message me privately and my box was full, it's cleaned out again. I'll try and keep it cleared, but since you all have been discussing how much of a job I'm trying to do here, you should understand that this is not my primary focus and it might take me a couple days to check back in.

As far as Im concerned, you're doin a great job. You've contacted people that sent in their info and got most of them the promo. Me and LDS was just tryin to let ya know that somethings not workin well in Springfield. Might wanna look into when ya got time. But keep up the good work Britton. Its lookin good so far.
