Damn I come to this board 2 or 3 times a month and it seems like it's always the same thing. Everyone yappin about how great they are, how they're gonna change the game, shit like that.

Then you got threads where everyone claims their homies as being "the best in the _____ (insert area)". First of all, if you or your people haven't ever put out any cd's, shut your mouths and give respect to these cats out here that are actually putting cd's on the shelves. INTERNET RAPPERS DO NOT DESERVE THE RESPECT YOU WOULD GIVE A "REAL" RAPPER.

Who are you guys trying to convince, yourselves?

There are a couple of cats I can think of who yap alot but once I peeped their cds I thought they brought heat, but the majority of what I've heard from this board is the same stuff that's been floating around for years.

Then there's these "mixtapes". Cellski was right, he said pretty soon the bay mixtape game is gonna get like the compilation game - it ain't there yet but by what you read on here it sure seems to be heading that way. Hey, if you can freestyle (or written) and come with some good concepts then do it. But most of what I've been hearing is the same boring raps, just on nice beats.

Anyway, that's my rant for now. Much respect to the rap vets on here & everyone holdin it down and continuing to put out meaningful product in this fucked up market. To all the rookies, stick in this game for awhile and get a resume before you start claiming yourself to be the next big thing.

I agree with alot of what you said but these types of posts are always indirect in order to make sense you must name people i think, one's you do like and those you dont.

No problem.

I read some of that thread "white rappers in the yay", it turned from naming white rappers to everyone opinionating on who they think is the best white rapper. How many of the cats named have a resume? It's easy to sound nice spitting some acapellas on the corner, but until you can put out a whole cd of original shit you're not even worthy of being considered. So basically I'm talking about everyone who mentioned someone as "the best" in that thread, when the person they nominated doesn't have any kind of track record.

As far as cats coming on here saying how raw they are, there's too many to name and most of them I've forgotten by now anyway. But if you want an OPINION, drop a name & some audio in here and I'll give you a real opinion, not one of the candy-ass reviews you'll usually get from other BART cats.

As far as cats yappin alot that I've actually seen their cd and gave it a listen and thought they backed it up: I heard AWax "65 g'z" at Tower last week, and I remember hearing Dutch first cd like a year or so ago at Tower. I actually thought they were pretty cold.

As far as the "mixtapes" (and I'll use that word lightly), I just barely got cable internet so I haven't been able to listen to alot of the earlier stuff posted. I peeped a song or two here & there but not the whole work. Like I said, from what I've heard it's just the same old rap shit, just this time it's not over the regular shitty beats most cats use.

If you keep sugar coating shit for cats, they won't improve.

I didn't say internet rappers weren't real rappers, I'm saying I'm not gonna give the same respect to a guy rappin over fruityloop beats in his kareoke mic, that I would a cat hustling paper to get himself into the studio & sticking through his goal and putting out a cd.

Even if I don't like somebody's music (and there's alot of that), I'm still gonna respect you for the fact that you love the game and actually had the heart to put yourself out there - there ain't no Hater Bones in my body.

ya'll got some truly valid ass point man....some of these cats on here need to just give it up, but im a tough critic when it comes to rap, i only like about 30-40 % of the shit on here....the rest is nothin to me.....i really dont see how some of ya'll feel some of this shit, i be like "this nigga album is garbage" and like 15 -30people reply tellin me im trippin....like i say im a tough critic...GameInsane inc....ya'll aint one of them cats.....and from what little i done heard from cane....so far you aint eiher. Too many cats tryin to get in the spotlight, AINT NOBODY GONNA CHANGE THE GAME.....at least not with the financial backing 79.5% of the muthafuckas on here is fuckin wit....cmon be real.
i only feel real shit and a lotta cats on here aint speakin real shit.....talkin bout rollin on dubbs and totin glocks and this nigga live wit his mama at 35 and aint nothin but a busta.....or the cat that got "some hard ass knocks for sale" that just bought his keyboard last week and dont know making a beat from beatin his meat......one thing you gotta realize is you hen you say you gonna change the game.....you betta do it, cause if you come weak at release time.......you done fucked ya career in my eyes

that is a valid point. i'm really feeling the done deal mixtape because it's got 27 songs and every song is bangin fa sho. it's got a real dj mixing this shit so it's legit. the rappers on this are tight as fuck too. i aint feelin g boogie and submarine but san quinn, j. bailey, big rich, don toriano, willie hen, ya boy really shine and show the world that them niggaz could rap. and CHARLES JAY my boy and yo boy Ken showed me yo shit and it's tight. i got love for niggaz like u. i checked those soundclips too. one luv to the real niggaz on this shit doin their thang. ---------------------- Big Larry
