Damn I come to this board 2 or 3 times a month and it seems like it's always the same thing. Everyone yappin about how great they are, how they're gonna change the game, shit like that.
Then you got threads where everyone claims their homies as being "the best in the _____ (insert area)". First of all, if you or your people haven't ever put out any cd's, shut your mouths and give respect to these cats out here that are actually putting cd's on the shelves. INTERNET RAPPERS DO NOT DESERVE THE RESPECT YOU WOULD GIVE A "REAL" RAPPER.
Who are you guys trying to convince, yourselves?
There are a couple of cats I can think of who yap alot but once I peeped their cds I thought they brought heat, but the majority of what I've heard from this board is the same stuff that's been floating around for years.
Then there's these "mixtapes". Cellski was right, he said pretty soon the bay mixtape game is gonna get like the compilation game - it ain't there yet but by what you read on here it sure seems to be heading that way. Hey, if you can freestyle (or written) and come with some good concepts then do it. But most of what I've been hearing is the same boring raps, just on nice beats.
Anyway, that's my rant for now. Much respect to the rap vets on here & everyone holdin it down and continuing to put out meaningful product in this fucked up market. To all the rookies, stick in this game for awhile and get a resume before you start claiming yourself to be the next big thing.
