'Messages From God' Anger San Mateo Neighborhood
Neighbors of a woman who has covered her roof, garage door and car with alleged 'messages from God' are complaining to San Mateo officials that the display violates city ordinances.
Robert Muehlbauer, neighborhood improvement and housing manager for the city of San Mateo, told the San Mateo Times that the Community Improvement Commission would consider the neighbors complains at a Jan. 17 meeting and could possibly impose fines of up to $100 a day on the home's owner Estrella Benavides.
However, Benavides -- who claims she doesn't actual hear God talking to her but writes the messages when she gets 'a feeling' -- is not concerned about the threatened fines.
"No, I don't care about the fine," she told the local paper. "I am going to keep going no matter what."
