stealing a wi-fi signal

lets say the upstairs residents have wireless internet and i want to steal the signal and use it for my laptop downstairs....is there anywa of stealin/snatching the signal and using it to get online?

you would need a wireless network built into your laptop or have a wireless network card in your laptop. Then search for their network using the software for your wireless network card. It will pop up and might be unlocked if your lucky. If not it will have a WEP key which is like a password, you will need this to get on their network. I think there are ways to hack a WEP key if you don't have it but I don't know how.

You need to get one of these. My boy just got one, and I got one on order now. It's the Senao, long range, 200 milliwatt card. You can pick up signals from a very , long range from with in your apartment. It has two jacks for connecting antenae connections. If the one above your apartment is not locked by WEP. You can connect to it easily. But if it is locked you should pick up other wi-fi signals in your area. Especially if you have a clear line of sight out of your window. Peep the link below. and check the forums at this site. www.remote-exploit.org They got what you need.

You really can't find a better card than this one. Except for the PCI 400 mw.

If you close to a starbucks i think it was 1 mile radius you could get it also.

That's called HotSpotting, or AP(Access Point Spoofing) They make you think it's an open line, when in reality you are connecting direct to shady dudes computer, he will steal all of your info while you are surfing through his connection. You can read about it here.
