thats not the point morons, that club shit dont get play in my ride and most people i know dont get dragged into listening to that bullshit, i dont let anyone or any network dictate what gets played in my ride, that "club" shit has ruined rap, that tryen to take away that mob or hood or gangsta shit but playing that bullshit but the networks cant do anything about it cuz its being brought back, believe it or not G-Unit still make "gangsta" sounding songs and thats why some folks still like them.

A lot of ya'll on siccness do not know....
Record company A&R's look at these message boards..its sad to say but it's true..instead of being able to get the street's opinion on bay area rap music..they have to get the internet critics opinion...only because those A&R's have no way to get in contact with the streets.
So when ya'll make thread title's like "40's new single wit keak sucks"
and "San Quinn's new single sucks"....

Those major record companies see that.

Its simple marketing brother..why would they want the bay?

If the A&R's see that the bay area's own rap fans aren't feeling their OWN music...why would the rest of the nation feel it?

It's pretty simple my friends
think about it
If you really want the Bay to be Back show some support...

And another thing
A lot of ya'll also complain about mobb music not being around anymore

..another simple one

For years up until around 2003..Bay rappers were still doing mob music.

but think about why they stopped.

After 1996 album sales from Bay artists have gradually went down
but bay artists kept doing their "mob music"

since you wanted that mob music why didnt you all buy the albums and support it...if you kept buying those albums..mob music would still be around strong..

Once bay artists gave up on that shit because it wasnt selling..they had to move on to the next thing--Young bay niggas

hyphy music did not come from a music studio

it came from the new generation of young adults in the bay
around 2003 when lil jon was makin slaps for Ying Yang" salt shaker" and Too $hort's "Shake that monkey"...and even the neptunes and busta ryhmes "Light your ass on fire"....These young cats were going crazy to this..with or without it being from the bay. Once the Federation seen this going on mostly in Oakland..they made Hyphy..directed to young cats
and most likely..if you do not understand Hyphy
then u will not like it..square

So this is the new movement..Hyphy
Accept it or not ....it's here
and if u dont like it
go into your 90's collection of bay area music and have fun
Finnaly someone wit some sense!

If an artist is going to put his/her music out there for the public then they should know that they are opening themselves up for all kinds of criticism (some good/some bad). That just comes with the territory of being an artist and the A&R's you posting about know this too. This is a message board where people can voice their opinions and if they ain't feelin an artists music then they will post their opinion, which always gets associated with hate. I know I ain't gonna go out there and spend my hard earned money on some bullshit cd just for the sake of the bay blowin up. I'm gonna look out for myself and spend money on something I like.

As far as mob music/hyphe or whatever. There are still some good "mob music" out there just got to look. I really don't care for a lot of the "hyphe" music but if they blow up that's coo. It don't really affect me much though. I think people need to stop focusing on the bay blowing up and just focus on being original and making good music. Most artists who blow up and have longevity in the business are artists who have some kind of originality to them. Sometimes it may be the image more than the music.

That's another one of my points...I dont know..if u kno this
but this hyphy music is blowing up..as a matter of fact...
Last months issue of ROLLING STONE had a article on the
Bay area Hyphy movement.
I understand that you dont like this type of music..and respect that...
but let me ask you a question...have you been to a sideshow in the last 3 years???
or even to a club in the bay area??
If you have then I think you would see that Hyphy isnt just music
..it comes from the streets of the bay area

maybe you should get out more....
So why should dude get out more to feel "hyphy" music as everyone is calling it. I listen to music from regions that I have never stepped foot in but I can still feel the music. My point is that music should be made to where everyone can listen to it... at least if you want to "blow up." If I have to be at a sideshow or a club to feel what you pushin then you as an artist might be going about your music in the wrong direction. This is just in general so no disrespect bro.

the problem is that its becoming formulaic. artists should be original and make music that feels good to them. it does become annoying when all of a sudden every rapper is making the same sounding songs talking about the same shit. they found a formula and theyre gonna milk it to fill their pockets up rather than make good music

Yea I feel you on that
The only problem is that some bay artist think that in order to make hyphy music...u have to talk about goin dumb or scrapers..
when in reality..hyphy music is jus uptempo songs that make cats wanna move

Not to sound racist...But I really believe that you are white...
and I think that's part of the reason that you do not like THOSE songs...and I think that's why you do not like the Hyphy movement..

and I'm pretty sure that you are not black...
To be truthful..most bay area rap is target to blacks.

just being honest.

but if I'm wrong please correct me.
i am salvadorean but thats besides the point. i don't like those songs because, i don't like the lame ass simple keyboard beat loops and weak ass lyrics just cause the radio and bet & mtv force feed some bullshit too you doesn';t mean i have to like it. the hyphy movement to me is some repetetive soundin shit that everybody is shamelessly jockin. lil jon started a trend with wack ass club music that i don't embrace. all that crunk shit and hyphy is just an extension of that in my opinion. saying that race has anything to do with it is stupid. don't blame me cause your favorite rapper can't blow when they sound like every other half assed jump on the band wagon slapped together bullshit. Its just sounds uninspired to me.
I like good music and the only albums i think that have been worth a damn out the bay this year have been z-man and zion i, both which had dope beats and original lyrical content, unlike the hyphy songs which ive heard.

I don't wanna admit it but he's right...good for the hyphy artists i don't care about them, but when the mobb artists evolve into hyphy that's when they become shit. "When somethings not broke don't fix it".
