@ Jae- I can only stay online for 5-15 minutes before that shit closes my internet so I cant download that program. I was asking cuz I wanted to know if anyones had this shit on their comp and could tell me how to deal with it. I'll try to download that program but I gotta get lucky and be able to stay on long enough
is your pc shutting down or is only your internet connection being disconnected. what os you got?
how old is it. If you got an early version of XP do you have service pack 1(sp1) installed. and do you have a firewall. I use Outpost Firewall by Agnitum....it configures itself when you install it. Works real good
http://www.agnitum.com/download/outpost1.html
download the free version.....not the pro version
after you install the firewall ...connect to the net and see what happens....more than likely you will get request from certain software trying to leave your machine....write it down if it's faulty and do a search for it on your computer and delete it. The permissions are self explanatory when you see them. some things you want to let out....like Internet explorer and all your legit browser shit. .nothing should be allowed in
whatever ISP software you use...make sure you check the settings for being logged on maybe all you have to do is change your session settings which determine how long you stay logged on the net....30 min...60min.....see if it's set to "Always stay logged on" or something like that.
It could be a variant of the Mydoom virus...but that don't make sense seeing that being logged off the net does most viruses no good.......OR
Try this:
go to start>run>then type regedit.exe
when it starts click on HKEY CURRENT USER>then click on SOFTWARE>then click on MICROSOFT>then click on WINDOWS>then click on CURRENT VERSION>click on RUN>now look on the right side you should see some entries....DELETE THEM ALL EXCEPT THE ONE AT THE TOP THAT SAYS "DEFAULT" or any others you may want to run at start up...DO NOT DELETE THE FOLDERS...ONLY THE ENTRIES IN THE FOLDERS
Now go to HKEY Local machine ...follow the same path and do the same thing to the run folder.
you may see a runonce folder that probably contains system entries....don't touch that. Restart the computer. see what happens......let me know!
GOOD LUCK HOMIE!
i forgot to mention that if a folder was created for software you installed but no longer have.....you can delete the entire folder......you just don't want to delete system folders in the registry
and if you got xp you can restore the entire registry to its default....but installed programs will trip on you.....when you get ery thang cool and you got xp....you should make a habit of creating a restore points every now and then...when your pc is running cool...that way you take your comp back to that date in time when things was all gravy...you should do this before you install any cracked software. I cracked a disk once....lol...used superglue to stick it back together....works fine now.
