Spiceberg Slim was aight, Ridah was aight too. i feel that too, 1990-Sick was hard to top... I think he came tighter on his guest appearances after those years.
Thug Immortalized is a classic IMO, the Last Dance was aight...
His flows are always heated, I wish he'd get more Rick Rock, Bosko, D-Sane, ect. to lace some beats though...
i feel your guy's points , his strongest shit was the old albums from 96 and before , but for some reason im always feelin spice. thats just me though...
Yup. Actually, for me, it's a toss-up between AMERIKKKA'S NIGHTMARE and 187 HE WROTE, but I know what you mean. Even at his "worst", Spice is still a hell of a lot better than many rappers at their "best."
Spice always spits the real in his interviews--he often emphasizes that the reason why the West Coast isn't doing well (as far as mainstream sales) is because of NO PROMOTION. It's NOT because people in '97 suddenly "got tired" of the Gangsta shit, just that the companies chose to not promote it anymore the way they had in the early '90s. The production on Spice's last couple of CDs has been a bit up-and-down, but he can still spit--I hope he can get some music that bangs all the way through on this new one (assuming that it doesn't get pushed back twelve gazillion times. LOL)!
You obviously don't have an ear for good music. IMMORTALIZED is one of the most slept on albums ever. SUPER DOPE production by RICK ROCK & company and THE LAST DANCE is a good album too. GET THE WAX OUT YA EARS :devious:
Spice 1 is a real West Coast rap legend and thats that. His music has always been str8 hardcore gangsta shit. I just dont see why West rappers that can relate to him like Ice Cube and Dr. Dre still wouldnt wanna fuck wit him?? Do they think theyre better than him or what?? Thats really why the west never has shown that much love after Pac's demise. Spice is one of my favorite West Coast artists and I always support his music and buy every record by him or any featuring him believe it or not. Hes reppin hard for the underground right now which is why hes largely slept on...
