Doesn't hurt to fight the ticket. It's 50/50 that they will show up. That particular officer might have to be some where important that day. You'll never know unless you try. If the officer does show up. Just plead you case and maybe the judge will reduce your fine.

I had a few friends who fought their tickets and got away with it.

is that how it really works?? then how come LQ's ticket was only $359??
Well, he did say "about" $400. I didn't include court costs/legal fees. I'm sure it'll all add up to that much, if not more. I'm guessin' he's gonna end up fightin' this.

Then again, the amount they charge for goin' over the speed limit could vary by state. Who knows.

Motorcycle CHP or PD cops are traffic cops. And will always show up. Their sole purpose on the force is to make money on traffic violations. If it was a CHP in a car, you got a chance. But then again...they get OT for any court appearances, so you never know.

The only thing that sucks about going to court is that they don't reduce the fees like they used to. Now its almost better to just pay it than to sit in line and wait around all day.

Good luck tho.

Damn, how come I didn't see this before.

Pinche guey necio! Use the race card! Mothafucka stopped 2 other cars. Just say that thoe people looked white. Then tell the judge that he cop was being a bit intolerant about you not being an anglo and that he even told you how he hates being a CHP and the only reason he's doing it is cause he's white. Race card!

NO CONTEST!!! I did that in Concord and got off w/ a $5 fee. I woulda got off free, but the judge couldn't just let me off the hook, cuz he wuz black 2. He looked like Uncle Phil. Anyway, ya "No Contest" is the way to go, unless u have substantial evidence proving that you're innocent.

I got a ticket for "racing" and when I went to court the judge told me that there is no difference between no contest and just pleading guilty.
