BayArea51 dropped they debut album "Classified" last year... There might be a couple copies left in Rasputin's, but I doubt it... One of them - Loot is from the SJ and the other - Marcus Weezy is from East Oakland, but has been residing in San Jose for a few years now. They been the #1 rap group on bandspace.com for over 2 years and get 10,000 plays a month on myspace... They ain't been promoted enough outside of the hood, cuz Loot's been in jail/prison for most of the time that the album been out...

It's a solid full-length 20 all-original track disc that includes brothas from the Bay Area's most populous city along with the rest of the bay... definitely worth knowin 'bout! Since it seems that most of y'all are industry cats, I'll upload a couple tracks in a minute for networking purposes... let a brotha know if interested.

HAHAH I KNEW THIS POST WOULD GO TO THE LEFT
No doubt. This is the problem out here, man...shit always goes sour somewhere.

On that rapper note...Well, this is the criteria for a RAP ARTIST! If you can spit, and step into a studio and put a song together, you are a RAP ARTIST! I know, and roll with plenty of cats who haven't dropped an album, or been on an album, that have more talent than most of these so called ARTISTS that follow trends, get a small fanbase, and fade away. Thing is this...Artists who respect the game, will put as much time into a project as it takes for them to be pleased with it. For some, that could be 6 months...a year or more for others. These same cats, won't jump on just anybody's album...because they have to respect the music first. If these cats aren't up to par or at least have hope, my folks won't fuck with 'em....that's what helps flood the damn market. THAT'S what a rap ARTIST is.

A rapper, is somebody who has SPITS...can kill anybody in a battle...can get a crowd's attention...but doesn't necessarily know how to form a SONG! A release is irrelevant. I became a rapper when I started spittin' on the playground in 6th grade...I became a rap ARTIST when I started forming songs in a professional manner at 14. THAT was 6 1/2 years before I released ANYTHING!

NO BODY SAID THAT "I MADE IT" OR THAT I WAS AN ARTIST.....NO ONE IN SAN JO HAS MADE IT. IF THATS WHAT I WAS USING AS THE CRITERIA FOR BEING A RAPPER. THAN OUT OF SAN JO. NO ONES "SO CALLED MADE IT. AND THE CLOSEST WOULD BE ASSASSIN BECAUSE OF ALL THE UNITS HE'S SOLD.
IM A FAN OF THIS BAY MUSIC AND SAN JO MUSIC. ESPECIALLY THE OLDER STUFF.

ALL I KNOW IS THAT ARE A GANG OF PEOPLE THAT ARE CALLIN THEM SELVES RAP ARTIST, THAT ARE TERRIBLE. IF YOU FEEL THIS APPLIES TO U THAN TAKE IT AS IT IS.

@CRITIC, I DIDNT MEAN TO START A DISPUTE ON THE THREAD! LMAO!

THE FUTURE OF THE SOUTH BAY IS WIDE OPEN FOR A STAR TO STEP UP AND SHINE!

Hahaha... Time for us to get right then, y'feel?

I'll just drop a brief bitta info so y'all know wut the deal is: Marcus Weezy was featured alongside Keak da Sneak, Turf Talk, Mistah FAB, Ya Boy, Cellski, Balance, and JT the Bigga Figga on the Gorilla Pits album, Generation of Renegades - which had the song Scrapin' (w/Keak and Turf), that gotta gang of spins on KMEL - .... and over 10 yrs. ago in the 'Sco - the homie Loot was in a high speed wit the folks K-Loc from the Gorilla Pits - and then they didn't see each other for the next time until 2004! Random shit - but I gotta hold it down for my folks, cuz they be in traffic way too much & don't mess with the net...

Here go a cut from BayArea51's "Classified" album - featuring the homie from the world's biggest ghetto (Soweto, South Africa), Thilivhali Moses Tshivhase - one of the realest cats on the planet...

One word to describe this song: hard... I'll up another one later that's a completly different style, cuz I know the Southbay folks are very diverse in their musical tastes! For those who ain't heard this - enjoy... BTW - If any of y'all wanna support, all proceeds'll go Loot's commissary! -------- FREE LOOT 4 2007!!!
