How disenfranchised and demoralized will this make people that have their hopes up?
Given the response to losing the last two major presidential elections, i.e. whining, shoula-coulda-woulda, sore loser, and crybabyness.
Will things change?
Or will people’s inevitable harsh fall be cushioned by the media retooling and then refocusing the fantasy at elections in ’08? Just as it has been done since ’04.
It doesn’t seem to bode well for the radical left theory of people getting pushed so far, then getting fed up, then radically acting. Rather, it seems to reinforce the idea that you can push people around and dash their hopes regularly as long as you can refocus their attention on something else, even if it is just as futile.
Here’s to voting. And here’s to watching the suckers get suckered again.
