How is it that you let her be around this looser in the first place? I have two daughters first time I catch word either of them are dating and what not I'm having dude come over to "talk" with me and every other male member of my family to see what we expect of him and what's going to bring a good old beat down.
Dude is a looser and probably going to continue to be a looser, what about when he gets caught up and cps takes the kid, then you'll have to fight for custody I'm not sure I would want to raise a grandchild.

thats easier said than done.........ever heard the phrase "when the cats away the mouse will play". We (as fathers) cant control every aspect of our childrens live's, we can only try and give them proper direction and morals, so they can make the decisions themselves, and also be aware of the consequences...But again easier said than done my friend!

^17 tho. at 16 I was 90% never home. but then again I'm a guy. you can't just take her to the clinic cuz she's gonna "hate" you for a long time, you have to make her see why she needs an abortion. take her down to the welfare & wic offices or see if you can talk to some young parents that will convince her otherwise. and drill "look at the other bitch, he gonna do the same shit to you" into her head like there's no tomorrow.

I can respect that statement. Bcuz when i wuz 19 (when she was born), i was a sherm sellin gang member on parole. I did have a job and insurance, bcuz i was on parole though. I've done nothing but try to be a loving father to my first born. But eventually, my baby had to grow up.....

my daughter is a year in a half....and i know when she gets older i will have problems....but im goin to let her know the getdown on everythang....im tryin to get custody of my daughter right now i got a punk ass bitch mutha fucka baby momma...she never lets me see her...shes always on the run she makes excuses...and ive been doin my part as a father....but yea i dont even wanna here the word pregnant out her mouth till she like 25 at least....

keep them kids as long as possible. its hard for me not to be an overprotective parent and i have boys. if i had a daughter she would be a nun. nothing to talk about. lol. kids try and grow up to fast. i think the best thing you can do for your kids is to listen to them. as long as they dont feel the need to lie to you, you will know whats going on in their life. i make sure my kids understand that no matter what happens, even if i dont agree, i'm on their side, ALWAYS. just be a real parent, thats a hard thing for some people these days.

anyways on topic, I feel that some important aspects of this situation should be analyzed. Is your daughters boyfriend the type thats open to new positive things in life or is more of the set in stone never think out of the box dude. progression ya know? No matter how old the father is you should probally be able to tell.
And yall will probally joke but does dude have a strong heart or does he come half ass and faulty most of the time?
Either way in 2009 I feel seventeen is way too young for having a kid. just my 2 cents
