If i had some turntables, and some tape duplication machines, i would....i got one of them Pro Sound and Stage Lighting catalogs, and i look through that shit, and just DROOL ALL OVER THE PAGES, on the real, i aint even jokin. (Most of yall is from the city...you dont realize what its like to be almost 2 hours away from the nearest studio....)
Im bout $2000 (in equipment) away from makin mixtapes...for that same Dos Mil Dolares i could buy production equipment, produce/record my solo LP, and make 5-10x that $2000 back....but the 2000 for mixtapes is NON PROFIT....i wouldnt make a DIME off that.
if i had the equipment, and i aint had to pay the 2 G's myself, fuck it, i'd be doin it right now...the SECOND a person/company/label sent me the package with the duplication machine and the TT's, it'd be ON...i wouldnt stop until i had everybody from every corner of the NW on my mixtapes, and until the NW got its respect from the rest of the nation....and i put that on my career.
I'll take a MPC2K, 2 Technic SL1200's, and a Hard Disk Recorder *ANY DAY OF THE WEEK* over a new car.....So...

Bammer: by project, i mean to fund future releases and buy more equipment...by mixtapes, i mean a NON-PROFIT replacement to them 5000 mp3.com pages, tapes that include new songs, snippets, remixes, "Part II"s, Freestyles, and anything else that people wanna hook-up...not them commercial ass, SOUND-LIKE-A-COMPILATION mixtapes---THEM IS FAKE!!
All i wanna charge for mixtapes i make is enough to re-up...if a label wants to buy 500 tapes for 500$ (what it costs for *PREMIUM QUALITY* bulk casettes, case included), and then give em out for free, instead of sendin out 50 CDs in "care packages" every month...then thats cool, i'd encourage it!! Thats what i want to happen!
Mixtape or 2 a month, probably a month startin out.. 80-90 minutes of music, thats about 15 songs, and a handfull of freestyles...i mean, damn, i PERSONALLY--Not me and my folks, but PERSONALLY!--could make 2-3 songs/freestyles a month for it..
All it takes is everyone interested contributing ONE track a month for it..and i KNOW there's more than 15 labels/groups out there workin they ASS off in the studio that deserve more exposure!
X: this is a small city, but it aint exactly the "country"...i could take a lil 5 minute walk and get whatever i need...if you know what i mean by "get"

1) there's PLENTY, but everyone in this area, for some fucked up reason, is under the false impression that "mixtape" means "compilation", and that they'd need to make EXCLUSIVE tracks instead of just hookin up the newest tracks they've completed and are about to release!
2) im talkin straight up casette tapes and CD's...if i gotta take 10 mp3's, 5 CD's, and 6 DAT's and throw it together, then i'd do that...
A vinyl cutting machine is like 7-8-9 G's though that kinda sucks
