Why would you even have an artist on your team who is capable of putting out some garbage? Thats YOU failing as a CEO.
If you have someone doing a job for YOU, they should get paid when they ned to get paid, gas, food and any other shit they need while they working on YOUR project.
Too many of these wanna be CEO's got the game fucked up.

to many artist think they plat, when reality is they cd gonna go tin foil.
you want gas food and rent. then wanna get payed when the album starts to sell. when is the lable possed to re-coup or make profit. no where. there suppossed to give you money and then give you more money, and then once again give you more money?

So you want your artist to give YOU a free ride until you decide that they should get paid? How could you expec them to put out a quality abum anyway if they have no idea when they are gonna get paid? How would you feel if your boss as mcdonalds told you that you would't geta check until the fries are acertain percent crispy?

Hmm, that's a hard question. I would do this: artist does not get paid until there's enough units sold to get back what the CEO put into the project. When enough units are sold and the CEO got his $10,000 back he put into the project, units sold from then on split 50/50. I mean, if the units don't sell then the CEO loses money and the artists don't lose shit but alot of time spent.
Exactly. If they think they got talent, then let them get paid by seeing how talented they are by how many units sold. I mean, if you're talkin about a newbie in the rap game then he'll do anything, he's commin to you to get signed. If he's commin to you, I say he don't get paid until units are sold. But if you goin' to a big name artist that's a different story.

CEO is more than a title name.......its business head, money, workin capital, making business moves and dealing wit accounts , and other real corporate business men.................cant compare a new artist to a known artist, if i own a store that sells sodas, i am gonna pay up front for the cokes and the pepsi cuz they gonan sell but i aint gonna pay up front for sum off the wall shit i aint never heard of......i will try to selll it though but its up to the consumer to decide if it will sell or not...........on the same token if the artist thinks his shit is so fuckin tight that it will sell a whole lot then y he wanna go wit a CEO that wont break up front?.....unless he really dont know wut it will sell.........its a gamble, and instead of the artist having open hands to money he should say put it towards the album.....unless he dont give a fuck now, all he wants is sum money fuck the promotions?
Yup. Too many people, especially some young 'uns who haven't experienced life, expect instant success. You have to be prepared for the possibility that you won't stack big chips overnight with your first several (or even more than that) releases. You have to ask yourself if you're willing to work hard to get what you want or need. Ice-T, in his book THE ICE OPIINION:WHO GIVES A FUCK?, says "if you want to get in the Rap game, I've got this advice for you: BE PATIENT. IT TAKES A WHILE." This is true.

I think too many artists that lack business savvy got the game fucked up. They don't realize that MONEY TALKS and BULLSHIT WALKS. Without money, their dream remains just that. Making that McDonald's comparison is shallow and far from accurate, They hire you.. u work for them and get a check. This rap shit is structured different than the simple employer / employee analogy. LABEL invests $$$'s into ARTIST. It's a BUSINESS VENTURE. If label loses money, should artist be held accountable and should artist have to pay back all losses incurred on said project? the door swings both ways. Too many artists out there lack hustle and expect to be compensated for their lack of hustle rather than go out and get it. People gotta start handlin their business affairs in a professional manner if they expect to be called a businessman. More people need to quit pointin fingers and take a good look in the mirror and find the answer they're lookin for.

it depends on the deal the artist and the CEO made in the first place, but I think that the CEO should pay the artist some money even if the artist don't sell anything (this money can be made back later, when the artist drops an other album and blows up)
OR SHOULD THE ARTIST FIND A WAY TO GET MONEY OFF THEY ALBUM ANY WAY THEY CAN???? SINCE IT DIDNT WORK THE FIRST TIME???
the artist should promote his/her album as mutch as possible, if the company doesn't help the artist out the artist should bootlegg the album and make the money by him/her self

yes, the CEO should maybe take some fee from the artist/the company the artist work with for this but the CEO should let the artist work with whoever the artist feels like working with

As a CEO you should considder the risk of loosing money, if you are not willing to take that risk, don't be a CEO.

If you are an Independent C.E.O with no major backing or budget I think a c.e.o should recoupe his investment what he put into it first then the percentage break pops off with whatever was negotiated.......
