Seriously, fuck Hollywood for continuing to remake classic foreign movies.

And thats the problem...capitalism in full fuckin force.

ANYWAYS

Youre missing the point of the rant. Its just NOT NEEDED. Of course posting about it wont DO anything, but that means that people like Nutt and myself, cant be MAD about it? We cant think out loud? Last time I checked, the internet was a place to SHARE and EXPRESS opinions?

On top of all that, who said yuou even had to click on this thread? Dont be a hypocrite.
naw.... being a hypocrite online has proved to be great fun. everyones doing it you square bear

but you coming and talking about it on the internet, is not gonna do a damn thing. i bet if you could recreate a classic and make hella money, you would be all over it
Yeah, seeing message boards are here for discussion that's why I posted it. My initial post was more of a vent, but still it's just my opinion and was made to start conversation.

And in actuality while this one was aimed at Smith and Spielberg (and I do like some of Spielberg's work) it's just an annoying trend that has been going on the past few years that I thought I'd bring up.

Kind of like the misuse of the word hater. But there have been plenty of threads about that on here in the past.

Any Will Smith movie becomes a 'Will Smith' movie.

Simply because thats the size of his ego.

PS
Compare:

1. Number of good movies in the 80s
2. Number of good movies in the 90s
3. Number of good movies 2000-Today

After 2010 There will be one good movie in the entire decade spanning 2010-2020. One.
Where have you been? I've missed your trolling.

But yeah, the amount of good movies put out by Hollywood has dropped dramatically but the amount of good independent and foreign movies has risen a lot over the last decade or two.

Umm..yeah, sucks your friend let you borrow a dubbed version. Everyone I've ever seen has been english subtitles. I hate dubbed movies... they annoy me to no end.
Same here. I watched Old Boy on the big screen when it came out in Germany. Korean with English Subtitles. There was a total of about 10 people there and only me and my homie left when the film was over. People rather watch dubbed movies that sound like shit than to read the subtitles...

Besides that I can't think of a single foreign movie that has been made into a even decent American movie.
Me neither. I also would like to know why the American Remakes always try to explain everything and add more to the story. Is the general American audience too retarded to get the films otherwise?

And what the fuck is up with the Bangkok Dangerous remake? Are they serious?

They are also remaking (or planning on) Versus and Battle Royal.

When they start to remake Kitano and Miike movies then it's time to burn down Hollywood. lol

The Ring sucked. Then again I wasn't a big fan of Ringu either though so I might be biased. Ringu was definitely better then The Ring though.

In my opinion most of those Japanese horror movies are very overrated.
