I been thinkin about Wyotech college for a while and dont know what to do...

The plus side to going to this college is:
-- they are very credible and respectible in the automotive industry so I wont have a problem landing a job.
--- It helps with job placement and has a partnership with BMW and Skip Barber racing school.
--the course teaches you everythign you need to know in a timely manner.
--its a private college so there is a better teacher to student ratio.

The negatives is:
--I gotta commute to either Oakland or Fremont everyday cause they dont have one in Frisco
--I gotta take out a loan and will be paying it off after Im done with the course
--City college offers similar course at cheaper rates plus no worry about paying off loans in the future

Some people tell me dont waste your money on colleges because their all the same. Other people tell me you cant put a price on your education. Advice????Thanks for reading

It all come down to the classes. What does each school has to offer... Would you learn the same from both schools? Or will one offer more knowledge... Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to get to where you wanna go.

Last time I checked, wyotech was in wyoming. I didnt realize that Sequoia was the same thing..
Naw homie they got one in Fremont ,Oakland, and Sacramento too.

DSR--yea dawg basically I'm gonna take Auto Tech either way. But one college has a big reputation and alot of connections while the other is just more conveinient and cheaper.

Damn planning a future aint easy....

I would go with Wyotech... in the long run it prob benefit you more. Might suck at first but in the end you might be more satisfied of what you went through.

Wassup homie.

Yeah Hobgob, Sequioa is now known as Wyotech. Sol snake, it really depends on what you want to do. I don't think education from Wyotech is the same "education you can't put a price on." From Wyotech, you'll only get an education about cars, from city colleges, you'll get a real education, you'll know more and understand things more in life. I'm currently in college and I do feel like I'm wasting my time but I'm glad I'm getting an education, it makes me feel good to know and understand things in life. You'll learn to think critically, you'll learn more about your surroundings and what not. If you want to go to a city college, are you only going to be taking mechanic classes? Or do you want to have a real major and transfer to a university? Because if you're taking only mechanic classes at the CC, that's a waste of your time. You'll be striving for a certificate for 2 years. At Wyotech, you'll finish in 1 and 1/2 years with a ASE certificate. ASE is the most important certificate you can have in the technical/mechanic industry and I'm pretty sure city colleges don't offer that. If you go look around a mechanic shops look for an ASE certified logo somewhere if you see one then you know it's a good place to go to. But ah, I gotta homie that went to Sequioa Institute and he finished what he wanted to do and got that ASE but he ain't puttin that shit to use. He's commutin daily from Santa Rosa all the way to Fremont. It's been 3 years and he still going tryna get another certificate for something I dunno. But if you're really interested in being a mechanic I would check out: http://www.uti-auto-tech.com/new_auto_tech.asp I was planning on going there (UTI). Which is way better than Sequioa/Wyotech, back then the fee for 1 and 1/2 years was $25,000, now I'm pretty sure that has gone up. This school is all HANDS-ON, meaning you'll be working in class with your hands. I even met with a UTI rep and talked to me and I was ready to go but my pops stopped me from going. My advice is don't let no one stop you from doing what you wanna do. If you wanna go to UTI, there's many locations in the nation but the main one with the most programs is in Arizona. Most likely if you wanna go to UTI you'll be going to Arizona. The rep told me I only had to pay $200/month for a 1 bedroom luxurious apartment in Glendale right next to AZ. Can't get no better than that man. Also what do you know about FAFSA??? (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/) IF you don't know what it is it's a financial aid application, my parents are poor as fuck so i'm getting some help from them. Just apply, it's applicable for technical schools such as Wyotech and UTI. One more thing, there's a BOG waiver, if you're poor and you're household income is low, you can apply for that which is only for CC. It'll waive all your course fees so you'll only have to pay for books. Hope that helps.

@ Musty. yo dawg I know you been through alot of drama even to this day. so you wishin me good luck and complimenting is coo as fuck for you to say homie. Thanks G.

@Mean Mugg. Good lookin with the info homeboy. Ima check into some of the things you recommended. I been known about UTI since the begining. UTI is where I originally wanted to go to but Frisco to Arizona everyday just doesnt make sence to drive out there everyday. Plus I dont know If I would be able to live out there. I would need to find a secure job to pay off rent and loans. thanks dawg.

Im still not sure what Im gonna do though. It seems the decisions are split between the two.
