racism still exists but opportunity is available more so than ever before. world war II proved that a country thrives when everyone participates. men of color and women. We wouldnt have had the success we had in world war II without everyone's participation. that was the turning point for our country. apologizing atleast gives people the satisfaction of them understanding they were wrong. nothing more, nothing less. i cant stand people that are racist.we are all human. i am color blind. your nationality is based on your geographic location, not the color of your skin.

LOL meti just watch Do the Right Thing and you will understand gas' humor. I have yet to meet a white person who agrees with reparation for blacks in America. Indians understand, they stole their land and used biological warfare on them. Some Jews understand.some Japanese understand they got doe for the concentration camps. Fuck an apology the argument is should blacks today be compensated for: 15 million dead on the slave trade, 400 years of free labor, 500 years of blatant economic discrimination, thousands of lynchings, a constitutional amendment that states we are 3/5 human, segragationin my parents time, laws stating we cannot vote, schools that were/are sub par, etc. Did America benefit and if so how much? It became a world leader because of slavery. Does slavery impact blacks now? If our parents were not forced to attend schools with no books would more people have sprung out of poverty?
My great uncle died when I was ten. He worked his ass off as a sharecropper and finally purchased some land. He was not able to attend school because there were only white schools within miles. During the great depression a white man in the area went to my uncle and his friends telling them they needed protection. They could sign their property to him or get lynched for possibly looking at a white woman. The law turned a blind eye. They signed their shit over and he took their land. My family did research and this man left it tohos kids. The state ended up buying it and giving them a boatload for a freeway or something. Should anyone be compensated? When every law is made to fuck you, think of theeconomic ramifications it does. He died in the projects eating sardines and crackers.

I respect the opinion of everybody in here... I guess because I'm white I just have a different opinion (although I've met black people who feel the same way I do)
let me ask this question... exactly how much money should everyone get? should it go to every single person? or just every black household? how would you suggest this should work? so... should everyone's taxes be raised besides black people? just curious since everyone thinks it's a good idea how would you guys go about it

They should give us a tax credit. Like the earned income credit which I never get. They could call it the reparations credit and anyone who has been extremely fucked and screwed by America could get it. 5,000 a year and 1,000 for each dependant. Only raise taxes on the wealthy because if it wasn't for us getting screwed this mothafuckah would be a third world country. Or make the lottery pay for it. Shit black people used to make doe runnin the numbers until they legalized it. Or give us right to all the 410 dispensaries. Make weed legal but you have to be black to sell it! Yeah I like the weed idea. That wouldn't cost them shit.
i like the idea of tax credit...and i think the money you get should be based on your financial status as well. i can honestly say i do not deserve the same money as a single mother does. On that other subject maybe if reparations did happen (hypothetically) i think we should learn from the asians and those who came from other countries and build businesses, and not just liquor stores. technically in that sense, we would be able to create our own, black owned marijuana dispensiaries that only played the music we fuck with in there and it doubles as a social club.

1. None of you or (us, 1/4th black here) endured any slavery.
2. Is it really going to make a difference? Remember the last time when you were a kid and your mom told you to apologize to your brother for socking him up, so you said sorry and really didn't mean it. You said the words but they had no value. George Bush will always hate black people when he's around his hunting buddies.
