His last few singles been weak as fuck.He should do some shit like jeezy do and hope radio crosses over to him but when he try to cross over to radio it just dont work.He should jump off this thizz/hyphy bandwagon and do classic quinn.I hate seeing all these niggas i grew up listening to try to fit in with this younger hyphy generation.I just heard a new unreleased track from C-Bo that is plain sad.Dude no longer has a fanbase and now he doin young music when his whole career been murder, murder, murder but to stay relevant in today's disposable music generation he doin southern bounce songs.Shit is sad.Either retire or stick to what u been doin.

Hell Yeah was weak as fuck to me.That song did nothing for his career. If he released that as a single on a major label his album would flop. Some niggas just aint made for radio unless radio cross over to the streets.

I think bring game to the table is as close to jeezy/south quinn should go. I thought that should make it to the radio. Do Ya Thizzle is decent, if it makes it, good. It's only one song, he didn't exactly hop on the bandwagon. Also he doesn't say the same stupid shit over and over, it's only in the chorus it says Do Ya Thizzle.

And Hell Yeah is the shit and I'm glad it made it to radio. Video release was weak tho. Video was ok but timing was off and it didn't go anywhere.

It's funny C-Bo complained about vets doing hyphy shit and now he's doing a southern bounce. (southern bounce = walk it out??)

Thats harsh, telling someone to retire, when they getting over 1000's plays a day and able to move units..I said it before and I said it again, fly out to new york sometime, fly out to chitown sometime, and ask people about hyphy, the only thing they know is E40, HYPHY might be played to you or in the bay but for us artists from the bay its the Face of the movement, and when we say Bay area they say HYPHY..Face it homie, the 90's is over, i grew on the same stuff but if you want in to the game you have to expand your sound to diffrent regions..Feel me**

Just because HYPHY is KNOWN in other regions, doesn't mean it's a huge, great movement. If it was, Hyphy artists would be selling hundreds of thousands of units. It may be played to fans of Bay Music, but it's also played to a lot of artists. The thing about Hyphy is, it came along, and originality was tossed right out the window.

It's original to those that put it out there, but it's unoriginal when every other rapper out of a lineup has a song about going dumb and ridin' scrapers. Or they mention the shit in every single song. I haven't heard a song with real DEPTH in a long time from this area.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Also, I agree with the thread starter 100%. His latest single DOES NOT FIT HIS STYLE AT ALL.

Quinnn is a lyrical cat, he needs to stick with what he does best and make great songs.. Sad to see him dumb down his lyrics and try to sound hyphy.

if it wasn't for hyphy they bay would not be in game right now, HYPHY got the bay bay back in the spot light, and e-40 just went gold, fab moving units getting magazines like Vibe.ect..I see what you saying everybody got a hyphy song but me being a artist I know you just cant stick to one sound you have to try diffrent sounds to appeal to diffrent crowds, regions, HYPHY is about bout having fun and its helping to do away with that WESTCOAST IS ONLY Gangstas stereotype and helping artists like Ya Boy, mistah fab, Clyde Carson, get MAJOR DEALS..HYPHY Movement has opened doors that havent been open since 1994,95,96..Major Labels is now giving us a look..Plus its just one song, bet you his (san quinn) new album got plenty of real shit on it...dude telling a legend to sit down for making hyphy track..dont buy it then..

No, he shouldn't sit down. But all these cats thinkin' Hyphy is gonna get them a deal too, need to sit down. I'm also glad 40 went gold, but when did his record drop? Major artists usually go gold within the first week or two, if not, then shortly thereafter. E-40 had one of the most familiar names in rap music producing his shit, and it didn't work like it should have.

Sure, 40 accomplished Gold...that is an accomplishment. But he should have gone gold, with his backing, when he dropped his album. That's how big and widely accepted Hyphy ISN'T! Just because it's on the radio and on TV, doesn't mean people love it everywhere. Remember, Crunk was making a shitload of noise way before Hyphy got recognized. People have HAD Crunk, they don't want Hyphy like a lot of people think.

If it's so big to major labels, why isn't Interscope knockin' the door down? Why isn't Universal knocking doors down with big checks? Where's Def Jam? You have to know who RUNS the record industry, and then decide if a move is BIG or not. If it's BIG, and the next big shit to pop, there would be bidding wars going on so folks could cash in on it.

The fans and up and comers need to realize that RAP MUSIC IS (from a commercial standpoint) pretty much DEAD.

Time to move on to something else...

Sorry kids :(
