Mr Cleen & Chris,

Sorry folks,
Holyfield owns Tyson and I bet even Tyson would admit that.
Holyfield will beat Tyson 100 times out of 100 fights in both their primes.
You have to understand that Holyfield's jab will stop Tyson's wide punches dead in his tracks every time. I'll admit that a younger Tyson under Kevin Rooney had more head movement and would probably have a better shot at Holyfield but even up close Holyfield will get the best of him.
I'm a big Tyson fan as well, but you have to be realistic....

Andre Ward huh? Who's he training with?
I'll keep an eye on this cat.

Tyson would have got in Holyfields ass. Yes, Holyfield would have out boxed him, but Tyson has never been one to stand toe to toe. Holyfield only knew what to do with Tyson after watching Buster Douglas hold and clench for several rounds before wearing down Tyson and knocking him out. He saw the blueprint and copied to the tee which is why Tyson got so frustrated, which was smart on the side of Holyfield. But, if they had boxed when they were supposed to Tyson would have knocked out Holyfield because back then he was hungrier, younger, faster, and stronger.

Roy Jones needs to fight Joe Calzaghe, he is the World Super Middleweight champion and he will step up a weight to fight Roy Jones...he has said he wants to fight jones...

imo Calzaghe would kill Roy Jones Jr in the ring...just hope it happens..

CHRIS... ACTUALLY I'M NOT TRYING TO CONVINCE YOU OF NOTHING.. THIS IS A OPEN FORUM AND I'M SPEAKING MY PEACE ON THE ISSUE. I DON'T KNOW YOU, AND I AINT TRYNA SWAY YOU ABOUT ANYTHING. DON'T TAKE MY COMMENTS PERSONAL WHEN WE AINT ARGUIN ABOUT NUTHIN. I'M MAKING MY STANCE IN A OPEN FORUMN. NUTHIN MORE NUTHIN LESS. BOTTOM LINE MIKE WAS THE REAL DEAL, THAT AINT MY OPINON THAT'S FACT.

MIGGIDY, YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS. YOU GIVING HOLYFIELD TOO MUCH CREDIT. TAKE THE FIGHTS THEY HAD FOR WHAT THEY WERE, A UNPREPARED FIGHTER AND A WELL GROOMED DETERMINED FIGHTER LICKING HIS CHOPS, READY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A FIGHTER ILL ADVISED TO STEP INTO THE RING BEFORE HE WAS TRULY READY TO FIGHT. I DON'T EVEN THINK THAT HOLDING WAS THE ISSUE. MIKES BEEN HELD MOST OF HIS CAREER. ANYBODY SEE THE PINKLON THOMAS FIGHT OR THE LARRY HOLES FIGHT OR MANY OTHER FIGHTS WHERE THE GUY IS BEING HELD. SHIT YOU BETTER TRY AND HOLD HIM OR GET BRUTALIZED. HE WAS NOT MENTALLY INTO THE HOLYFIELD OR DOUGLAS FIGHTS.

Calzaghe needs to go after Hopkins isntead of waiting around.
Hopkins ain't movin up in weight cuz he's tryin to get as many title deffenses as he can to add to his record. Calzaghe needs to either drop to the middleweight division or move up to Light Heavyweight if he expects to earn a big pay day anytime soon. Don't get me wrong, I like Calzaghe but he needs to initiate a fight against any of the top fighters, instead of just waiting on them to step in....

Got it.

I guess it's just speculation at this point but I just don't see how a guy with Tyson's style can ever be effective against a guy like Holyfield.
It didn't work the 2 times they fought and from what was shown, it wouldn't work even if Tyson was both mentally and physically ready to fight Holyfield.

Evander was used to fighting much bigger guys his whole career, and here comes Tyson a fighter of his size. Holyfield's success against bigger heavyweights paved the way to the man-handling of a small heavyweight like Tyson.
And don't forget that Holyfield too was past his prime when he fought Tyson.
People seem to have forgotten that as well....

WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT BEING PAST THEIR PRIMES. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE IN BEING IN FIGHTING SHAPE AND BEING IN SHAPE, AND THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. YEAH MIKE LOOKED THE PART BUT WE ALL KNOW DIFFERENT. WHO HAD HOLYFIELD BEEN FIGHTING THE ENTIRE TIME MIKE WAS IN JAIL, MOSTLY THE BEST OUT THERE. TAKING THE HEAVY SHOTS, KEEPING HIS REFLEXES SHARP, KEEPING UP HIS THRESHOLD FOR PAIN ETC... AT THAT SAME TIME PERIOD, MIKE IS FIGHTING NO ONE, AND UPON GETTING OUT, HE FIGHTS NOBODIES. THE DIFFERENCE, MIKE HASN'T TAKEN PUNCHES, HASN'T USED HIS BOXING REFLEXES, HASN'T BEEN IN ANY WARS, LOSES HIS REFLEXES AND FIGHT SPEED, HASN'T DONE ANYTHING FIGHTERS NEED TO DO TO PREPARE TO FIGHT ONE OF THE BEST IN THE RING. YET HE STEPS IN THE RING, AND PEOPLE REALLY BELEIVE HE HAD A REAL CHANCE OR WINNING THAT FIGHT. YOU ASK ANY REAL FIGHTING COMMENTATOR HOW THEY PREPARE A FIGHTER FOR SUCH AFIGHT, I GUARANTEE YOU THEY THROW HIM IN A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF REAL FIGHTS TO GET THE FIGHTER PREPARED. THEY WANTED TO HOLD OFF THE FIGHT FOR ABOUT ONE YEAR MORE, BUT HOLYFIELD KEPT THREATENING TO RETIRE IF HE DIDN'T FIGHT HIM NOW, BECAUSE HE KNEW A WELL PREPARED TYSON WOULD EAT HIM ALIVE.

^^^^^ exactly

@mr. cleen
No offense taken at all. If I was getting offended or even felt like we were arguing, I would probably have a complex about being wrong, and in this case, I'm sure I'm not. It's almost impossible to match fighters when they never really fought each other, some cases are clear cut, but this one is not. Who was the best boxer Tyson fought before going to prison? He never fought anyone as good as holyfield. Like miggidy said, the style of fighter that tyson is, is a difficult match up for him fighting holyfield. It's like if you have 2 kickboxers fighting each other, the match is more even on that aspect, but if you have a kickboxer fighting someone who practices Judo, the practitioner of Judo already has the upper hand. Tyson is good at what he does, no question. He has amazing strength, and great speed when he's moving his upper body. But to see his frustration after getting punched relentlessly almost ever time he tried to swing wide, is the key as to what I'm trying to say, and I think miggidy is trying to prove the same point. Boxing isn't always about knocking someone out, and everytime holyfield was landing those clean shots, the points add up. In my honest opinion, Tyson in his prime would never have beat Holyfield in his prime. N for the record, I don't dislike Tyson and I don't like holyfield.....it's not a biased opinion at all

I'm never bettin on a fight again after that second De La Hoya/Mosely fight. That was some bullshit, and I will never bet any kinda real money on that shit. That would be sick tho. A trip to vegas, I'm gonna be bout them trips once I get back to cali for good
I feel you man....
Well I won't be bettin on big fights anymore.
You know the pay-per-view headliners, those are usually the ones that are fixed.
I like bettin only when I know that a heavy underdogg's gonna pull a surprise.
