Please read my statement again. I don't think you understand my opinion. I said it is my opinion that if a "christian" came to your class and gave a similar message you and the A.C.L.U would make a fuss over it. Sometimes people reject the message on the sole grounds of the messenger and any preconcieved notions they may hold. Again, this is my opinion.
i apologize for the misconception. i agree with you, if a Christian delivered a similar message under the context that he is a christian delivering a christian message, i am sure a fuss would be made over it. i, however, would not be aiding the making of that fuss. im open to all opinions and viewpoints, wether or not they contradict mine.
Also, no one has implied that one must be a "christian" in order to follow the teachings of Yeshi, however, it is safe to say that you do not follow all of Yeshi's teachings. Some? Yes. All? No.
yes, it is safe to say that.
I think at some point in life most americans will go through this, however it is up to the indivudal to have a desire to change. If the desire is not sown the fruit won't be manifest and the person will continue to do the same thing over and over. This is why HE told us to be "in the world but not of the world". The world is concerned with these things and the most of the time these things come at the expense of your sanity, your heart, your morality/virtues and at the expense of others.
i agree wholeheartedly. the quote is also one i hold as one of my favorites. what i am suggesting is that we do not simply allow the powers that be to continue and inject this behavior into its people. i understand it must be the individual's choice to embrace the change, but without ever being aware that a change is needed, he may never find it. that is dangerous not only to the individual but to all who are connected to him. would it be futile to spread as much truth and light as humanly possible? to make as many individuals aware of this change they need to make instead of worry solely about the self. is all human life not connected? i believe when one has reached the highest degree of self actualization and love, he realizes he has no self, that all selves are but one, and that to want the most infinite of love and happiness for the self, you will want it for all people as well. i would be willing to sacrifice my life to see such a thing manifest.
Too bad many muslims don't accept this as truth.
it is too bad.
