Arsen-151 Explicit
1. My Reasons- This track starts out with a very basic beat but I do like the piano sound that it goes with. I wasn't feeling the lyrics to the 1st verse, but the second verse was pretty good. I also wasn't really feelin the delivery either, but like I said, it sounded a lot better on the second verse then the first. 6/10
2. I See It All- Another somewhat basic beat. I do like the guitar sounds in it though. The chorus very basic too. I wasn't really feelin the chorus because to me its something that was done before. I do like the lyrics a lot better on this one though. 6.5/10
3. The Elite- This beat I do enjoy. I do think it could be improved though with the usage of sounds more like real instruments (ie guitar for the backround highs and lows). I also enjoyed the lyrics for the most part they are on point but there are a few points where Arsen comes off beat. Overall a cool song though. 7.5/10
4. Cogtomerator- Toriano starts off with the intro and a cool verse. Shemp flows and drops some tight flows, and surprisingly I didn't think he could but he outflows Toriano. Toriano comes back though and drops a much better verse than his first. After this I get a little confused so forgive me if I got names crossed. TMack comes next and does well as well. Then comes Arsen and this is one of his best verses on the cd. Louie Loc comes tight as well...but it doesnt sound like anything he has done before, in fact I had trouble picking him out of the crowd! The beat is cool, it gets a little repetitive, but at least its not looped and there's a breakdown. 8.5/10
5. Across the Tracks- The track starts out with a chorus duet with Arsen and some lady. I kinda like the chorus, but it sounds like a bunch of heads are screaming while it goes through; that might be cause Im listening to it on RA but not sure. The beat is decent but like a few of the earlier tracks sounds a little bit too computerized if ya know what im sayin. The subject matter for the song is great. Arsen's delivery is cool for the most part. 7.5/10
6. Do It- I’m enjoying the beat and the verse by Mr. Cane is tight. Arsen comes cool aain as well. The only problem I have with it is that the vocals are flooded out by the base. I see what they were trying to get at with the chorus but again it sounds like something someone else came out with already. 7/10
7. Daily Activity- The beat for this song is real real simple. The “ding” in the backround after the handclaps gets a little annoying as well. On the other hand you can’t hate on the lyrics because they are very realistic and Im sure everyone can feel partying, running from the police, etc. Very short. 7/10
8. Sidewayz- As the song starts, its sounds very 3xKrazyeske. The raps in the song are pretty basic and don’t really showcase the talent of some of the earlier songs. The phone calls in the middle of the song made me lose interest. Toriano is featured on the song and drops a subpar verse, and if I recall he’s used that verse on another song or at least several of the bars. To be honest I wasn’t feelin this one at all. 5.5/10
9. Twisted- This song features another laidback beat. The chorus is done by a dude, I don’t think its Arsen but whoever it is could definitely have done better with some lessons. The lyrics were nothing impressive, but I was somewhat impressed by Tmack’s delivery on the song. The track drags on at the end as well with a bunch of talking. 5.5/10
10. Reality Bites- Arsen spits tight to a fast paced bangin track. His lyrics are on point and his flow goes right to the beat. Some snippets are added to create that hardcore feel in the middle of the track. This is probly my favorite track on the album but is also short. 9/10
11. John Wapes Exlcusive- Interlude.
12. The Storm- This track features a bunch of heads on it. I am not really feelin the beat and that makes it hard to get into. A few people dropped some tight verses, I think the one I felt the most was Mr. Cane’s. 6/10
Overall this cd did surpass my expectations. One thing I like about heads on the board that do music is you at least know they aren’t established and are hungry and putting their hearts into their music and this is definitely another case. Although I was impressed I think this cd could have been much better especially if there was more original and updated sounding beats and if a few more bangers were added it definitely would have been on a different tip. I am not nessecarily recommending you buy this cd but you should definitely listen to it and see for yourself the audio is up at Northern-Ridaz.com. Good Luck to Arsen, Moe, Mr. Cane and all the other heads on the board with this project and their future ventures.
