I have 2 Infinity 6.5" 3-ways @ 75 watts rms/225 peak (maybe 100/400, I'll check later) and 2 of these 4x6" @ 60 rms/180 peak. I'm looking to get a 4 channel amp to power these, how many watts should it be?

You're a professional installer PHX?

How come you never reply in all the other audio threads?
I WAS a professional installer. And I have replied in other car audio threads but I dont get much response from my suggestions. Plus, a lot of cats here seem to know their shit too.

Ok I got that amp on ebay new for $112 shipped. Now I'm currently running this JBL 600 watt class D amp and 2 12' 1200 watt JBL subs with a 1 farad Stinger power cap. I have a high-output 240 amp (I believe that the correct amps) alternator. I don't think adding this new amp will cause any problems but should I take any precautions?

75-100 watts per channel.
JBL is terrible though. well, at least their amps are. their subs are good for the price, but I'm not a fan of JBL.
Which one did you get? the infinity?

Yeah I figured so, just didn't have much experience with it. My 95 Impala/Caprice has the high output police alternator. This should really bring my component speakers to life.

as long as its the RMS of the total RMS of the said total of the speakers or more you should be fine. Key word RMS

I have a 900 watt 5 channel MTX AMP running my 2 MTX thinder 6500 10s and 4 Infinity 61/2s and it sounds great coming out of my premer deck with a little EQ depending on the CD I'm knocking pretty good on10 and the shit goes to like 40 or more

The new JBL amps actually aren't too bad.

The GTO series is OK...but the BPX Power Series I like alot. It's a quality product.

I had the 1100.1 but ended up trading it for something different.
