I went to a bank that wasnt mine to cash a check...the check was from that bank and the person that wrote the check WORKED at that bank...they wouldnt cash it...i walked out to the car where the person who wrote the check was...she called bullshit,went in,talked to the manager...and the woman(tellet) even ADMITTED that if it was the persons grandma that wanted to cash that particular check....she wouldve done it NO QUESTIONS ASKED...i was dressed in a white t-shirt and sweat pants with a beany...ive switched up my wardrobe since that day and you should SEE how different people react to me...nice button up shirts and slacks makes a world of difference...it blows my mind...

i grew up in poverty for most of my life...so it's very hasty for you to label me or my folks as "white-privilege". this topic was about racist jokes and i'm not saying "get over the racism" i'm saying get over yourself and laugh at the jokes. this guy spends much time on a computer...many of my friends can't afford to do that.

A lot of people also try to compare growing up poor with growing up a minority. How? Its not the same thing. Just because you grew up poor doesnt mean you don't have white privilage. My parents are from Mexico and have money now, and they've worked very hard to get that money. But do you think because they have money they aren't facing racial adversity on a daily basis? Theyre "getting over it" everyday having to work twice as hard as the next man in order to be recognized in a world of white privlage. Its kinda hard to get over yourself and laugh at jokes that put down your people, especially when your working real hard to rise above that put down in everyday life. You dont have to deal with such a matter, and that is what white privilage is.
