From an Eastcoast/Southern perspective, the idea of putting out a mixtape is to gain exposure and build a fan base. You put out a $5 cd with someone elses beats mixed and showcase your shit.

My question is: why are you selling your mixtapes for $12 a pop? That is the price of a regular CD at most stores. Do you really expect to gain a larger fanbase by selling a mix cd for the same price as a regular?

And also, how would you say your sales are doing? Are you selling what you thought you would/wanted to? Are people picking them up or keeping the $crill in their pockets?

Dont get me wrong, Im not tryin to hate on your product, but Im not gonna spend $12 on someones mixtape unless I've already heard them. Im not gonna risk spending $12 on a mix cd with no new beats and isnt a solo album. This leaves artists who ive never heard off my bay area cd budget. (btw gotta give cane and arsen props for lettin their shit pop off on the internet.)
